Windows 7 & the QuickCam for Notebook V-UAM37 (P/N:8612020000)

[ Edited ]

This is for QuickCam for Notebooks customers who upgraded to Windows 7 to find out your webcam is listed as "unsupported" on the Logitech Support page & the Logitech software installation is "blocked" by the Program Compatibility Assistant.

Your V-UAM37 (P/N:8612020000) will work in Windows 7.

Follow these steps:
1. Start Menu
2. Search & Select "Device Manager"
3. Right-Click "Camera" under Other Devices (with the exclamation icon which indicates no drivers)
4. Choose "Update Driver Software"
5. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
6. Choose "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
7. Choose "Imaging Devices"

8. Click Next

9. Choose in the Left-List "Logitech"
10. Choose in the Right-List "QuickCam for Notebooks"

11. Click Next -> Yes -> Close

Go into Skype or any other Webcam program: it will recognize your device & allow you to adjust brightness/colors/etc.

(I don't see why these steps are not listed on the product's support page...)

Enjoy!

The reason why these steps are not listed on the QuickCam® for Notebooks support page is because this camera is not supported by Logitech on Windows 7. :smileysad:

Thanks.
