QC Zoom workaround for Vista (x86) 32 bit
I have a Logitech Quickcam Zoom and this is how I got it to work:
1. Install QuickCam 32-bit Version: 10.5.0 Build 1096b
It can be found here: QuickCam Notebooks Deluxe page.
2. When you get to the camera detection part where it asks you to plug in your camera, plug it into a new usb port (if you had it plugged in when you installed Vista) and just press skip.
3. Windows may try and find the driver for it, you can cancel that too.
4. Install the old QuickCam software (Version: 8.4.8 build 1034A)and overwrite anything it asks you to (it will fail to install completely because of the new version, but it will put the files you need into the Logitech program files directory.
The old software is here: QuickCam Zoom - Silver page.
5. Go to the windows orb (former start button), open control panel, go to system, then on the top left of the window click device manager.
6. Find the unknown usb device (hopefully you only have one... otherwise unplug anything else that doesn't work or you haven't updated the driver for yet)
7. Right click and select update driver, choose a location to find the driver, navigate your way to C:\Program Files\Logitech\QuickCamWebInstall\Drivers\WinNew\PRO2
8. Press OK or whatever, and let it install.
9. Enjoy!
Mine didn't even need to reboot and worked with the 10.5 QuickCapture software. Still need to test with Skype and Live Messenger though.

What I find amazing is they have the time to edit a persons post but not to update obviously [deleted] customers about promised drivers that seem nowhere to be found.
The most informative poster doesn't even work for Logitech.

Good god what is wrong with the posters on this forum, so stressed out over a webcam driver lol.
Common sense would say that if there isnt actually a driver for your webcam, dont upgrade to vista before you have checked it out the website downloads, dont just upgrade then EXPECT there to be an instant driver, this is not just down to logitech even HP are behind with drivers, Netgear and Dlink too. As you would EXPECT when a new OS is released, this happened when XP was released and i'm fairly sure will happen when the next OS is released.
Next time i would suggest you do your homework and wait for the driver before you upgrade or buy a new machine with Vista loaded.
PS read the posts checking for timings on when the driver will be released before posting asking when it will become available.

well wmiles, we can understand that there will be a delay while waiting for drivers to arrive for new OS software. The point is the amount of time having to wait for a new driver especally for one of the top selling webcams. Windows Vista as been in the pipeline for a while now. and Logitech as been aware of this, so yes we would expect a driver for the offical release of Vista.

And as for your last comment if your where to LOOK at the download page for webcam orbit it says that it's not supported and doesn't even mention anything about a driver being available in Feb. So they can't even get that right, come on logitech get it sorted, If your after sales was as good as your products!!!!!

I totally agree in principle they should have the drivers ready, but when does it ever work out that way. it doesnt.
And as Microsoft change so much from Beta's to complete OS I guess they have to do final work before releasing software which could damage your system if it wasnt right.
So get off your high horse, stop complaining and whining about it and wait like the rest of us are.

Deleted- Violation of Terms of Use
FYI.. customers like us are not on a high horse, we just demand "support" for a product we paid "good money" for. Is that too much to ask for these days?

Is that on a new product, or something you purchased a while back which supported a maximum of XP.
I dont disagree that you paid good money for the equipment, but i dont think you have a right to "demand" anything if the product wasnt made for support with Vista. I would replace mine with the Orbit MP version, but to save the money i'm just thankful that a driver is being updated.
I guess it's too much to ask for a bit of praise and that it's easier to jump on the stress out wagon.
However
If you bought this new with a PC package which is loaded with Vista then maybe you should talk to the manufacter and ask why they sent out a cam with no drivers.
Cheers and keep smiling
