c920 - no audio

Running windows 7/x64.  Just installed drivers and software.  Video work.  Mic shows up in mixer, but no audio is getting recorded.  I tried re-installing, reboot, still no audio?   NOT HAPPY!

Hello noboy102,

To help resolve the issue with the audio not working, here are some steps that you can try:

-Make sure that your Logitech HD Webcam C920 is plugged in directly to the USB port of the computer. Avoid using a USB hub or a docking station.

-Try a different USB port.

-Besides checking that the microphone is displayed in the sound mixer, also make sure that the correct playback device is selected in the control panel.

-After making sure that the correct recording and playback devices are selected as default in the control panel, here is a test that you can do:

-On the Control Panel, go to the recording tab.

-Right click the microphone of your Logitech HD webcam C920.

              -Click Properties.

              -Go to the Listen tab.

-Put a check on "Listen to this device".

              -Select your playback device.

              -Click apply.

-Talk through the microphone and check if you hear yourself talking.

-Besides using the Logitech Webcam Software, try testing the webcam on other applications like Skype, Yahoo Messenger, etc.

-Test your  Logitech HD Webcam C920 without the Logitech Webcam Software installed to check if the mcrophone will work with just the native drivers.

-Test your  Logitech HD Webcam C920 on another computer.

I hope this helps. :smileyhappy:

Re: c920 - no audio

Dear DaleLogi

I had the same problem and it was solved by switching the USB Slot. I'm just wondering what reasoning could have caused this. Why do you think it started working when i plugged it into a different USB port?

Re: c920 - no audio

Hello CameronSawatztk,

Another USB device might have been running on the same USB Controller, and there was not enough bandwidth to run both devices.
