logitech quickcam pro 9000 won't record in email mode (Vista)

I just bought my Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000 yesterday, and I love it, but when i try to recrd a video using Ligtech's QuickCam software in the "email quality" resolution, it will not record.  QuickCam says it is recording, as the button changes from "Record Video" to "Stop Recording."  Also, I am able to record fine in all the other resolutions. 

 

Also, the Logitech QuickCam software has completely frozen on me 3 times and Windows Task Manager is unable to end it.  So I have to restart my computer.  It usually occurs after having QuickCam open for more than 20 minutes.

1) What is the 8xxxxx (or 860-xxxxxx) series number from the camera tag (FAQ #3427), or preferably... the USB\VID ID?

2) Which version of the Logitech supplied QuickCam software application/drivers is installed (FAQ #5105)?

3) What Operating System (OS) is installed?

Does this issue occur when QuickCam 11.8.0.1065 is installed?

I don't know.  I've never used that version before.

Please try reinstalling QuickCam "clean".
