Re: lswdebugout.txt file grows when camera unplugged

This is ridiculous! I happened apon this file while using spacemonger to see what's taking my disk space.

I saw this 3.496GB file named LSWDebugOut.txt, googled it, and now I'm here. I've been running this software without a camera for months now. If it grew 1.3GB in a few weeks, I can't believe my file is only 3.5GB. Perhaps the programmer goofed and it limits the file to 3.5 GB instead of 3.5 MB?

I would think logitech would have a setting to disable the debug output as debug is meant to be used while debugging, not for use in an end product unless it's been enabled manually. Sounds like their programmer didn't fully test the application. Has anyone contacted support to get this fixed in the next version?

[ Edited ]

My LWSDebugOut.txt is 1.2 GB of the same lines repeated over and over again.

When I run it through gzip, the resulting compressed data takes up 6 MB.  That is a 200:1 compression ratio!

Yes, same problem here.

Setting LWSDebugOut.txt to read only and definitely plugging in the camera for now :smileysad:

How long does it take to disable a file write in the driver?

Re: lswdebugout.txt file grows when camera unplugged

Has this been resolved?

Its is still happening to me

Is there something I should update - or do I uninstall software?

I think I installed latest version couple of months ago...

Re: lswdebugout.txt file grows when camera unplugged

Hi you guys, rather than waiting for Logitech to fix this issue (Which they would never fix it since it is a high piority bug), Here is a little script I wrote which will kill the LWS process, delete the existing LWSDebugOut.txt and create a new LWSDebugOut.txt file and make it READONLY. This solved my problem.

1) create a file go.bat

2) Enter these text in it then double click it

@echo off

:: Go to Users Temp directory

C:

CD %TEMP%

:: Kill LWS.EXE process

taskkill /F /IM LWS.EXE

attrib -R  LWSDebugOut.txt

:: Create a dummy LWSDebugOut.txt file

del /q LWSDebugOut.tx

echo garbage> LWSDebugOut.txt

:: Make it Read Only

attrib +R  LWSDebugOut.txt

pause
