one customer requesting logitech support for linux

I have three computers in my home, and I have been able to install linux on all three of them. It is working well for me, but there is NO help coming from Logitech for the linux community. I am stuck in WindowsXP land whenever I want to use my 4000pro webcam. Since I imagine the reson for this non-support is justified as, "Our customers are not asking for linux," I am making the request here.

Please, logitech, release the "alpha" linux drivers that you no doubt have and let the linux community improve them into final products (you are a hardware seller, not a driver company, are you not? Just be cooperative, not combative and secretive.)

OR

Release the driver details needed for the linux community to write drivers from scratch.

You know this is going to happen eventually, so why not get ahead of the curve? You have nothing to lose.

Sincerely,
Greg Conquest

PS It took quite a bit of trying for me to ask about this. It is no wonder customers aren't asking in mass numbers for linux support. You don't make it easy.

PPS Thanks for these forums. I guess they are new.

Re: one customer requesting logitech support for linux

Welcome to the new Logitech Webcam Forum gregconquest! :smileyhappy:

Your issue concerning the linux OS has been brought up previously (in the "old" forums).

Unfortunately, linux is not currently supported. :smileysad:

As I have mentioned previously in posts concerning x64 drivers, the best way to "work" this issue is to contact Logitech about it directly.

Thanks.

How can I contact Logitech? I have tried; they don't appear to want to be contacted.

Re: one customer requesting logitech support for linux

Thanks KachiWachi. I have contacted Logitech.

Greg

PS Two out of three times when I try to login to the forums here, my login is not recognized. This has been going on for almost a week now, and I am having no problems anywhere else. My ID and password are written down, so there was no mistake on my part.
