Wi Life - can recordings be saved elsewhere (automatically)

I do not have a WiLife but am thinking about purchasing.  I have a question, if someone breaks into your home and takes your PC, all of your images are gone, right?  I know that platinum upgrage allows you to save images to the internet safe, but that would be done only when you request (in my example, it would be too late.)   Am I missing something here?   Can you install the software at a remote (office) computer and have the recordings done there?   Any advice would be appreciated.... thanks...

Get platnum, get online account...Goto  setup, online, get your command center online...Then lets say you are at work, and you can get to a puter, goto wilife account log in...And you will see MY CAMERAS OR PLAYBACK,then from there you can see who stole your gear if they did

Good Idea .... If it was supported - which it isn't...

Platinum does NOT let you store videos remotely unless you do it from the on-site computer command centre; which is useless of course.  Even if your computer was still in place and active you can view the offending video remotely but you cannot protect it, copy it, store it, forward it or do anything remotely useful from the remote platinum enabled site.

I bought Platinum without realising this.  The reason I bought it was to enable be to monitor my remote site and take action if necessary.  Platinum fails miserably in this regard;  it is little more than a toy and not a practical way to manage a remote site.

There are many other deficiencies.  The so called pan and zoom features are useful and you can preset several options from the LOCAL command centre ONLY.  Even if setting up these options can't be done remotely at least the ability to switch from one preset option to another could be, but no, it isn't supported.

You are able to choose the location you want to store the video so you could send it to an external hard drive or server that is separate from the computer that the Commander Center is running on. However you do need to consider the speed at which the computer can access that video which will effect playback and remote viewing of stored clips. It can cause a big delay but it would resolve security problem that you are concerned with.
