Re: WiLife Online services are temporarily unavailable..... AGAIN!

I've also recommended this system to people looking for affordable security for holiday houses and so on. Now I hope they didn't take my advice.

I would just like some information. Something, anything! It has been a couple of days since tech support offered anything at all. Getting pretty worried by the shocking silence.

Should I now invest in an alternative system? I think there is a 'babycam' type camera suitable for ipads that may be OK but it means investing and set-up all over again. Very bad PR guys.

Re: WiLife Online services are temporarily unavailable..... AGAIN!

If you read 5 or 6 pages back you will find that the Logitech Reps are under a GAG-Order to not inform their customers of their actual intention. I've been reviewing other security cameras and it seems there is no good wireless system that is reasonably priced so maybe it is time to go wired?! I have some alternatives at my home currently (due to Logitech disconnects) I have a PTZ Foscam and Hootoo cameras (around $80 ea). They are extremely affordable, wireless and you can actually move them as PTZ is meant to do but the video stream quality is crappy. One minute they are in the kitchen the next they are clear across the room so it is more of a jump than stream viewing. I'm use to the 6 camera system I now have but I can't find a reasonable wireless system to support those. It seems the only realiable systems are "wired", although I don't like the thought of crawling around in the ceiling or putting holes in walls, but then I don't like what is available wireless, especially Logitech WiLife. So my search continues... got to hit Ebay to sell the WiLife before they actually remove the Gag-Order and tell us they are no longer providing Home Security service.

Are you serious ?

Surely they would have the decency to tell the whole world what's going on with their company...... or maybe not......

Methinks some pubblicity is needed here.........    :-o)

Re: WiLife Online services are temporarily unavailable..... AGAIN!

Hope all gets resolved. Those of us in corporate environments might see this is an example of where something went wrong, but once down the infrastructure support costs for these services may have come under scrutiny as Logitech has reported profit warnings

"Most significantly the euro has weakened considerable during the last three months. In addition, webcams and remotes continue to be negatively impacted more than expected by product portfolio and market weakness," De Luca said.

The warning came as Logitech published worse-than-expected third-quarter net profit and sales

 Latest profit warning disappoint analysts

-- 3Q profit and sales below expectations as remote and webcam sales disappoint

-- Company says it will benefit from new products in its 2013 fiscal year

I'm not saying this news has anything to do with current outage, but we've had so much downtime to spectulate that the sky is the limit and it's anybody's guess or theory until the systems come back up.

FYI I did move to the Alert system, and run the Wilife in parallel - and in my homem the Wilife (cameras) has better connectivity than the Alert, which is extremely finicky and the cameras and powerline are forever disconnecting or having SD card reader errors but at least the Web and Mobile is still viewable. I'm waiting for the Alert to become stable before I pull the plug on WiLife  (for whatever tha's worth) -  good luck to us all on the WiLife

I have just been informed that wilife.com's domain name issue has been resolved. Access around the world will restore within 24 hours as the DNS records propagate. I've successfully connected to online.wilife.com from Fremont, California via multiple ISP's. We sincerely apologize for the problem this may have caused. Please update this thread if you are still experiencing access issue after 24 hours.

Re: WiLife Online services are temporarily unavailable..... AGAIN!

I'm unable to find any way of sending you a PM Trevor.

I might just be temporally blind, due to frustration over these problems Logitech has given me..

Please provide me (us) with the right e-mail address regarding compensation for useless Platinum service!

I would be more than willing to adjust Platinum services to compensate for the down-time.

Once the servers are back up, please Private Message me with the email you use with WiLife and I will adjust your account balance accordingly.
