LWS 1.1 refuse to install into W7

[ Edited ]

Having just bough a brand new PC under Windows Seven Home Premium 32 bits (Acer Revo), I had to visit your site to download the relevant driver and software.

Having a Quickam Pro5000 P/N 861306, I was supposed to download Logitech Webcam Software 1.1, which I did. But when I launch the installer lws110.exe, the only answer after decompression is "This product is not for your Operating System. Please take an up-to-date release on Internet".

Can you explain me why the software downloaded for Seven is not Seven compatible ? And YES, I selected Windows 7 and 32 bits on the selection page, and not Vista or XP ! I did it twice just to be sure...

Thanks for your fast answer, I would like to webcam with my family for the new year.

Re: LWS 1.1 refuse to install into W7

------ Three days later ----------

OUPS ! By continuing to investigate the day after, I finally discovered that ACER put a 64 bits release of Seven into the Revo and not a 32 bits one !!! This is what happen when a PC is sold without any documentation: you don't even know really what is inside the machine  :mansad:

So I downloaded the 64 bits version of LWS 1.1 and there the installer worked. After that I had the same issue as everybody with a Prox000: the installation of the driver was refused by the installer because of unsupported hardware (even with the good PN), Seven did install automatically generic drivers, and then the the LWS software installed and worked.

Seems that I am more lucky than other people that are still stuck between Seven and Logitech hardware...
