Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

Well ive recently obtained a G15 and installed it, but much to my disapointment i found out that the media keys refuse to work with Win7 X64(64bit)

Does anyone out there know how to get the media keys working?

In specific i mean the Audio dial, play\pause, stop, forward, and reverse keys.

All other keys work on the board, i would just like to get the media key functionality to work

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

Mine works just fine in Windows 7 x64, however ONLY the media keys do... (well, and the letters and so on).

I can't get a driver for Windows 7 so I can't get the Macro keys working, which I find very useful.

Any idea when a driver for W7 will be released?

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

Ok i found a fix for my problem on another forum, it may help you im not sure.

In the desktop search type services, start the aplication

Find "Human Interface Device access" and start the service, andset it to automatic start.

I cant garuntee that it will work for you but it got rid of my problem and now i have full functionality

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

Which software are you using.  I installed the Windows Vista 64bit software and it recognised it was a different OS and wouldn't install...

Are you using 64-bit?

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

I got the device drivers and profiler to work on my G15 and G13. Before installing the software, right click on it and select Troubleshoot compatability. When the next screen comes up select Try recommended settings. The next screen showed Win XP (Service Pack2) compatibility. Hit the Start program button and the installer should lauch at that point. I just went through the rest of the regular motions of installing and it worked great for me.

I also did the suggestion that Dalhimar had about changing the Human Interface Device service to automatic. Mine was set to manual originally.

I am running the 64 bit version of Win 7 and used the 64 bit version of the software for the G13/G15 from this site.

Hope this helps some others as I was going to go crazy if I could not get my profiler working. Every other piece of hardware I have in this machine had driver support...except for Logitech. I really don't understand their stance on waiting until release to put out drivers. They could at least put them out there for people to use and give feedback on and just state there would be no support on those drivers. Kind of like Beta software. you don't get support for trying it out, but you get the opportunity to give feedback.

Anyway, good luck to everyone else getting their keyboards and gaming pads working correctly.

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

After the above solution didn't work for me exactly as described I got this to work by using WinRar to extract the contents of the file lgps302_x64.exe and ran the troubleshooting wizard using WinXp SP3 compatibility on the setup.exe directly which finally worked for me. The compatibility was apperently getting set for the archive but not for the setup file. I'm using Windows 7 64bit.

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

What driver software did you use, unclear to me if we should use windows Vista 64 bit, or 32 bit, or XP or what.

Re: Logitech G15 Keyboard functionality

Confirmed I have now solved this as the above posters have.

  1. Download 64 bit Vista Driver
  2. Extract to a folder using winrar
  3. on Setup.exe Change compatibility settings to Windows XP SP2 (don't use Vista 64bit as it doesn't work)
  4. Run and install as normal

I didn't have to mess around with any Human Interface stuff - just the above and all works.  Although now it does I have my old WMP problem back where it stays playing after I shut it (something to do with WMPSideShow...)  Irritating but I can live with it!
