Thanks for the information stefanico!
I suspect this is system a specific issue as I personally have three Win 7 64bit OS without any issues at all.
I have already started talking to the engineering department and hopefully can provide us some feedback regarding this issue, however, I would like to see some more Logitech Diagnostic files posted on this thread so we can start collecting more data, and find out which systems/sound cards are being effected.

Here is my posting. I would like to make a couple of observations with this Diagnostic.
1) It says I have 2.00GB of RAM, that is wrong, I have 6GB
2) It says "Total Physical Memory: 4095 MB" again, I have 6GB
Cheers,
-David

Thank you all so far for your input, I have forwarded this information to the engineering team.
@Mwip57,
Are you using the onboard sound card that came with you Gigabyte motherboard or an add on card?
Thanks,
-PedroC

I had the same problem with one of my computers and the Webcam Pro 9000. I'm running OEM Win 7-64 Pro up to date on a home-built tower with Core2Quad X6600/8GB RAM on a MSI P-35 MB using the onboard sound card. I just got the webcam yesterday. I D/L and installed the latest SW. No sound on any program. Video works fine. When I unplugged the quickcam the sound works again. Later, I rebooted and plugged the webcam back in, and.. Voila!!! The sound is now working. Every once in a while something works out for unknown reasons.
I am aggravated the Motion detection/record video gadget doesn't work with Win 7. I wanted to use that for surveillance. That is one of the main reasons I bought the Webcam Pro 9000. The released version Win 7 has been out since Oct 2009. And the late beta versions have been around for over a year. It's frustrating Logitech isn't able to get their products' software out to support the current version of Windows.

I'm having problems too (new computer, freash install - Win 7 64-bit OEM). I've also installed the latest logitech drivers - (lws110_x64) Firstly the camera freezes every 10 seconds for 2 seconds. After 10 minutes the microphone (sound) then locks up. On my father's computer same drivers, same motherboard (Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2) but Retail version of windows (64-bit) - no problems. He's got an Intel i5 750. I'm running same motherboard, same camera, we both have 8GB of ram, but I'm running i7 860, with OEM system Builder pack, being the main difference, and I get all these issues.
I thinking of returning the camera very soon. I don't expect thiese problems with a top computer and top webcam.
Heres my . Diagnostic:
