I'm also having the same issue. When I try to configure the audio within Logitech software, the software hangs and the only fix is a reboot of the computer. After 2 reboots, the audio finally disabled itself, so now most of the webcam is working, except for the audio.
Windows 7 was installed initially (not an upgrade) and I'm using the on-board sound card. Below is the info from the diagnostic tool. As someone else already pointed out, my computer has 4.00 GB of RAM but the diagnostic tool says 0.00 MB and physical memory also seems to be off.
Please keep me posted when a solution is made available. I like this webcam and would love to keep using it, but I can't use it if it doesn't work...

WOW-months later and still no fix to a problem that is oviously affecting so many users.
WAY TO SUCK LOGITECH! From day 1, I have always had problems with their buggy (word filter evasion). Even years ago with my first web cam of theirs. always driver issues. Greedy, selfish company. I truely hope you go out of business, as you clearly don't know what you are doing.
I think the best solution (and the one I ended up doing) came from a post:
Go buy yourself a Microsoft HD cam. I did just this and had no problems. Goodbye logitech, and goodbye headaches and problems. If only i can get the few hours of frustration back.
(Edited - please be courteous)
...I'm sure they will moniter and remove this post shortly. they wouldn't want the truth getting out. i just want to see how quickly as it amazes me that they can spend time removing posts, but not fixing issues. WAY TO SELL OUT! No more burning for me. If i see a logitech product, i'll pass and look the other way. I suggest you do the same. you'll save much more in the long run. there are plenty of other companies that can do better.

I take it from this thread if I want to have continued frustration free usage of my webcam pro 9000, I should stick with Windows7 32-bit and avoid 64-bit at all costs.

This new driver seems to work with Windows 7 - 64bit and my Logitech® Webcam Pro 9000.
Better late than never? :-)
Thanks

model V-UBM46 does not guarantee that your serie Pro 9000 webcam works with windows 7.
Example, P/N 860-000109 hangs under MSN Messenger as soon as you use the microphone... :-(
Logitech does only support the hardware not the compatibility problem...
Conversely, PN 960-000482 works fine.
An advice : do not buy your webcam to Logitech because you have no refund if it doesn't work under windows; Buy it to amazon, and price are also cheaper.

I installed the last driver LWS 2..., without success under Windows 7 Home Ed french...PN 860*000109 continues to hangs up under Messenger as soon as the mic is open.
So I decided to buy the new one compatible windows 7, PN 960-000482 from amazon.
