We've tried the Setpoint 4.80 (8/5/09) release on several Win7 RTM configurations that we are testing and for the most part it works fine. One minor annoyance however, is its consistent habit of opening the Windows Live Messenger main window when the Windows Desktop logs in; which occurs even though the option to do so within Messenger is unchecked (disabled.) Uninstalling Setpoint restores normal Messenger behavior. We've found this to be a consistent occurrence with Setpoint 4.80 on both 32Bit and 64Bit versions of Win7-Pro RTM and Win7-Ultimate RTM which we are presently testing.

Still no solution for the VC8 installation error I see. Ignoring the fact that Windows 7 has been RTM for a while now, with the OS being available in shops as of the 22nd this month, don't you think you should ensure your software works flawlessly, across the board, in the newest Microsoft OS?
When will SetPoint 5.2 be made available?

This is my mail to Logitech support. I'm posting here this problem too. I use Win7 x64, 7100.
Honored, I have problems with latest setpoint 480 and enabling mouse. Afer
instalation and bluetooth detection, "let's restart your mouse" appears. I turn on
and connect mouse, but nothing happens. I cannot go further. After I connect another
USB mouse and remove setponit, after restart, keyboard and mouse works ok (but no
setpoint features). I've also try to run in compatibility mode as Vista SP1. I got
the same problem.
What else to try??

What's sad is the the Logitech website states that you shoulld use 4.72 with Windows RC. I guess no one thought to have the web site updated.

ManMountain,
For the VC8 issue, here is the workaround:
1. download both 64bit and 32bit redist from MS.
2. install both, one at a time.
3. install setpoint after that
For 64 bit we need to run both x86 and x64 redist
x64 redist
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?fa
x86 redist
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?Fa
Note:
Also, according to MS, if you can provide set of logs, MS will work with us. Please let me know and I can then setup an 'incident' for you to attach log files.
Thanks

tomios,
When it stuck on : "let's restart your mouse", one of the thing to try is to off > on the mouse and press the connect button and so the mouse will be in discoverable mode.
Another way is to skip the detection process, and run the Bluetooth Connection Assistant (BCA) to set the receiver to, what we called HID or Embedded mode by clicking on 'troublshoot' > disable hub in BCA main screen.
Once it is in the Embedded mode, you can reconnect the mouse/keyboard to the receiver.
I assume that your are using Logitech Bluetooth set that comes with a Bluetooth receiver.

I have Win 7 Ultimate RTM 64/bit with the S 510 keyboard combo model y-rak73. The shuffle button does not affect Windows Media Player or any other appliction I tried.
All the other media keys work.
Using setpoint 4.80.103 Driver 4.82.11.
