Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

mx500, window 7 64-bit and no mouse tab in setpoint 4.80.  i've tried everything without success.  i've spent an entire evening trying to get a way to configure my buttons.  this mouse isn't even that old.

do you anticipate having a working driver for this product soon?

Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

Well, given that 4.80 was released 4 months ago and there isn't a fix yet that I've found thus far, I'd say that "soon" is going to be a relative term. And by relative I mean in the grand scheme of things, compared to a few eons, a year or so is "soon".

But hey, that could just be because I'm rather upset with logitech right now and looking to return my products due to the fact the software is absolute crap.

Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

I went into Windows 7 knowing I'd be cursing for a few weeks getting drivers sorted out.  What I'm concerned about is a lack of clarity regarding whether they're actually planning on providing a fix for mx500 users.  If they're actually washing their hands of this product now, which I bought in the last few years, that's the worst form of planned obsolescence and I've now got a mouse that's a shadow of what it was capable of in an older os, or some nice e-waste.

I can wait a bit, but I'm not going that long before I find some sort of hardware solution that gives me software support for more than a couple of years.  It can't be that hard to get this device to work in Setpoint.

Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

When I bought a new drive recently, I installed Windows 7 Pro 32 bit and all my programs and drivers. I'm using the MX Revolution mouse and the MX Duo combo, so I installed SetPoint 4.80 for the mouse and iTouch 2.22 for the keyboard. Both work perfectly, and can be customized as before. The "My Keyboard" tab does not show up in SetPoint, but "My Mouse" does, and the keyboard can be customized with iTouch.

This driver should never have been WHQL. It causes major problems when used with high DPI settings / Aero theme in Win7on a diNovo Edge keyboard (maybe others).

Please see here or bug report. I am also reporting to MS to try to get this driver dee-WHQL listed if possible.

SetPoint is nothing but trouble (including the farcical Generic Mouse button issue).

This bug needs to get fixed ASAP.

Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

I am having a hard time of installing SetPoint software in my Windows 7. I have illuminated keyboard and MX620 mouse and want to use the special functions. I have tried installing the software that came with the package and from the website for several times, when I click on finish, it doesn't do anything, I still have no setpoint installed in my computer. Have tried this for several times and still getting the same thing. Please advise. Thanks!

Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

I have an old keyboard and mouse set (listed on your site as the "Cordless Freedom Pro") and it has only one side button, which windows doesn't see as a seperate mouse button, it sees it has a second scroll button (as in it does the same function that clicking down the croll wheel would do). Before, when I had Windows 2000 and was able to use the old itouch and mouseware software, I was able to program that one side button to be a back button, but now that I have Windows 7, the old programs don't work.

I tried installing this version of setpoint and it saw the mouse and keyboard (I know it did because it changed the drivers, but to generic ones) but in the software, the mouse and keyboard tab don't show. I tried re-downloading and reinstalling it as the troubleshooting page says, but to no avail. I just wanted to know if this is because this version of the program is new and you're entering devices backwards (newest devices are supported first but older devices are further down the list) or if you guys have given up on a model this old.

Re: SetPoint 4.80 is Windows 7 WHQL certified and available for download

I've been reading this thread and find it quite worrying that Logitech suppot is so lacking. I'm using a diNovo Mini and this keyboard is one of a kind so changing brands is not really an option. Not that I want to though. I always liked Logiitech products.

I've installed the SetPoint software amd sure enough, no option to change the keyboard and mouse settings. I installed Uberoptions and everything worked great, but after restarting Windows, the optoins were gone again. The only solution I could find is to unplug the receiver and plug it back it. Then all the options returned. Not a perfect solution, but a solution none the less. Something else that worked is re-installing the drivers under "Device Management". Also not ideal. But, if someone can help me write an script to update the drivers after every boot up we might be in business.

If Logitech will not give us support, we should support each other!!! Come on Logitech, don't let your good name suffer just because Mr. Gates screwed up with his last OS and had to jump to a new one!!!!
