julz,

I'm sorry but this camera will not be supported under Windows 7.

Thanks,

Re: Windows 7 x64 and Orbit MP not working well.

julz,

Any of our new cameras being currently sold on our website with the exception of the QuickCam Vision will work under Windows 7. If you decide to purchase any of those cameras I recommend downloading LWS v1 software from our site in the event the camera does not come with the proper software.

Thanks,

Pedro:

Thank you! I have one more question for you. Is the logitech pro 9000 compatible with windows 7 and does it have the pan/tilt/zoom?

Re: Windows 7 x64 and Orbit MP not working well.

julz,

The Quickcam pro 9000 is compatible with Windows 7 as long as you download LWS from our site and as far as pan/tilt/zoom it does support it.

Thanks,

Re: Windows 7 x64 and Orbit MP not working well.

If this is true ???:

Does Logitech REALLY expect us to discard an expensive piece of hardware, just because there is a new operating system? I can assure you that if these are the facts I will never purchase a Logitech product and I will do my best to let people know that Logitech is a company that doesn't support it's products and I will recommend products from Microsoft, and Creative.

Re: Windows 7 x64 and Orbit MP not working well.

I am hearing from a lot of people about my post. We are right to be angry. Hey Pedro do want to pay for a new Webcam for me for Windows 7?

I can't believe the OTHER people who think this is just something we have to accept, and continue to SUUPPORT LOGITECH BY BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS. It burns me up! As I said in the previous post I WON'T EVER BUY A LOGITECH PRODUCT IF THEY FORCE ME TO RETIRE MY ORBIT MP. Out of 10 peripherals Logitech is the only one that isn't working. Hope I've made my point.

Pedro:

Thank you so much for your help. I just purchased the Logitech Pro 9000 today and could not figure out the drivers you were talking about. But installed the CD that came with the product and it is working just fine with windows 7.

Riverphillip:

This is the game of technology. I had a logitech MP also and purchased the Pro 9000 wich was totally worth it. Unfortunately part of technology is keeping up with it. But who knows maybe they will update for these things later but at the moment my job depends on it. Logitech is not the only people not ready. Just remember Windows 7 is not even released out to the majority of the public yet. I can not connect my Kodak easyshare software or Lexmark printer software yet. So just bare with them or upgrade. Best Buy is having a sale this week, you can save  twenty six bucks and just try to resell your MP online, that is what I am doing.

Good Luck

Julz

Re: Windows 7 x64 and Orbit MP not working well.

The irony here is that I was trying to set up my Orbit Sphere for my Windows 7 Launch Party to demo Windows 7 video chat.  Now I find the camera will not be supported.  Makes for a rather expensive paper weight.

If this was an ancient camera built on ancient technology that might be understandable but for a device so costly to become obsolete so soon is shameful.

FOR THE FUTURE I AM GUESSING STICKING WITH MSFT PRODUCTS WOULD MAKE THE MOST SENSE.  I'LL MENTION THIS AT THE WINDOWS 7 LAUNCH PARTY I AM HOSTING!
