Wireless DJ - Hardware

I have a new DJ system.  Last night it worked fine - using the remote all over the house.  This morning the remote was not connected (Pc had been on standby and another user had logged in).  I've tried the Home-Mute trick without success (the "+" sign appears for ages).  Both the blue lights on transmitter and receiver had turned red.  If I reconnect the transmitter both transmitter and receiver turn blue for about 10 minutes, then go red again.

I have tried an uninstall/reinstallation of software andI note that if I now connect the transmitter only (i.e. no receiver plugged in, as if from new) the light does not go blue and StreamPoint does not tick the "Transmitter Connected" box (but it doesn't do that with the receiver plugged in either).

Help!  Before I get a refund.
