Music throug the computer itself

Is there any posibility of have the music controlled by the remote played through the computers soundcard.
(As in digital out an external quality D/A converter, that then goes to the amplifier.)

Re: Music throug the computer itself

It's certainly possible to play through a local PC audio device (like a sound card) instead of streaming -- simply select the Local PC in the Rooms menu on the remote.

Is this what you're asking about, or is it something more complex?

Re: Music throug the computer itself

OMG - my blunder!

Thanks a lot.

The reason - besides the external DAC, is that i would like to mess around with some digital room correction, using a deconvolver plug-in for Mediaplayer.

Will this (and DSP plug-ins in general) effect the output of the Logitech reciver, or is it completely "seperate" from the Mediaplayer.

Kind regars!

Re: Music throug the computer itself

I know that iTunes plug-ins will work,, but am not sure about Windows Media Player plug-ins (because StreamPoint launches a separate WMP process for playback).

My best suggestion is to try it and see.

I have tried WMP plugg-ins (to ty to enhance output as described in other discussion) and it  works but make Streampoint to do some bad termination and WMP dissable them on next startup.

It sounds like using plugins in iTunes is a safer bet for right now.
(What plugins did you try in WMP? I'd like to replicate your problems and show them to the QA team)
