Need to use 2 DJ remotes with one station or PC

I have a distributed audio system going into my house 4 rooms and 4 sources (all sources are from living room, where I plan on putting my base dock).  My question is can I have more than one Wireless DJ remote?  The remotes dont have to work at the same time but would like to have a remote for upstairs and a remote for downstairs.  I'll even buy 2 complete sytems and use up 2 sources if it will work, but prefer to use 2 remotes with one base station/source.

Thanks,
David

Re: Need to use 2 DJ remotes with one station or PC

It would be really helpful if you could summarise why you think the Wireless DJ is a 'piece of junk'.

I have completely the opposite experience. I think the system is first class. It streams (virtually) flawlessly. Sound reproduction has been enhanced with the addition of decent cables to the sound system, and I have stripped out all background programmes on my music server (actually a fairly old, cheap computer running Windws XP)to keep the drop outs to a minimum.

Okay, there are a few niggles that are slowly being ironed out, and arguably the product should have been tested more before launch and then using us as guinea pigs, but overall it is the best wireless streaming solution out there that gives you a decent enough audio experience without having to shell out hundreds if not thousands of pounds on top end equivalents.

And no I don't work for Logitech!

Re: Need to use 2 DJ remotes with one station or PC

Software is buggy, deosnt wake up, gives errors on certain songs and never recovers using both WMP and Itunes. When it does work, the stream is plagued with dropouts, I have plenty of pc power and barely use any resources when running the DJ. I run my wireles router w/ 802.11a 5ghz and do not own a cordless phone, plus the DJ is a whole 10 feet and 1 wall away from the usb transmitter. If I leave the DJ playing on random it is usually crashed 4-5 hours later. Remote gets stuck on OK constantly. Click wheel is a cheap piece of junk, very unresponsive and loose feeling. Cant have 2 remotes which is silly, considering the stream takes up alot more bandwidth than the lcd remote. Tons of simple features should be included in the software are painfully missing, IE. pc control. The list goes on and on.

This product could be truly great, but is so unreliable, I could never suggest someone to purchase it. It reminds me of their Harmony remote line which suffers from many issues including RF syncing in the 890 pro model. Logitech gives me the feeling ATI did 10 years ago, they make great hardware with wonderful innovations, but dont have to programmers and engineers to make it work right. I will switching all my customers away from them until they get their act together. Looks like I'm stuck with Aeros for a few more years D;

Oh dear!

I have asked this on another thread....which country are you in? I am wondering if it is a region-related issue due to different releases of different software i.e. other software not Logitech's?

US of A.  I've tried both the original software release plus the beta that was released last week.

I am in the UK, and haven't had the problems you describe. Does beg the question...........

Any posts from UK-based owners that have the same problems described?

Re: Need to use 2 DJ remotes with one station or PC

Hi sampson,

I would suggest that you follow the steps below:

1. Uninstall StreamPoint.
2. Perform a Clean Boot. Please refer to the following article on how to perform a boot clean.
Title: Booting Clean in Windows 98, Windows Me and Windows XP
   URL: http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=228&...
3. Download the latest version StreamPoint from the link below.

If you require further assistance, please let me know.

Re: Need to use 2 DJ remotes with one station or PC

What about the original question in this thread ?
Can I use 2 remotes (not necessarily simultaneously) to control the streampoint SW on one computer ?
Also , Can I have 2 Different Wireless DJ systems in my house, and be able to play different music in different rooms, or will they interfere ?

Re: Need to use 2 DJ remotes with one station or PC

I am afraid you cant use 2 remotes to control StreamPoint on one computer. Once remote can only connect to one receiver. There is also a very high posibility of interference if you have to Wireless DJ in the same house as the Wireless DJ can operate at a distance of 330 feet at ideal conditions.
