Hi-
I've been reading about the Squeezebox Boom ("Just plug in the power cord, wirelessly connect to your network and listen to the music and content you love". All of my music is on a 500G Networked Hard Drive. I have this drive plugged into my wireless router, and can access it from any computer in the house.
My question is: Do I HAVE to connect to a computer with the Squeezebox Boom software running to play tunes, or can I connect directly to the networked hard drive and access the music files via the Squeezebox Boom, leaving the computer turned off? I was hoping to NOT leave the computer on and running all the time! Kinda defeats one of the purposes of a networked drive (for me at least!)
If I have to use a computer, I can just as easily play the music through my laptop and LabTec Speakers (great subwoofer!) and not pick up the Squeezebox, although it is not as conveniently packaged as the Squeezebox.
