Squeezebox Duet

Maybe I'm just stupid.  I like to think I'm pretty technology savvy, but well, I'm stumped.

It looked like you could just hook this up to stand-alone speakers - yet I can't seem to find a set of speakers that works with this!  Any suggestions on speakers that will work with this?

I don't have a stereo at home (do people really still have them?!)  so how does one hook this up?

Feeling REALLY dumb here....

Thanks for any help =)

Re: Squeezebox Duet

Hi, Powered speakers such as the sets you can buy for a computer.  They come in all sizes and shapes these days.  For a step in quality, you could get a small simple power amp and then regular home speakers.  Bookshelf speakers keeps the setup tight (small, easy to place, unobtrusive).  If you want Big sound get a full sized amp (or HT reciever) and full sized speakers.

Re: Squeezebox Duet

I just got these and LOVE them.  Built in amp and beautiful sound.  Someone ~6 mos ago recommended them on this forum and I resisted due to the high price but after reading review after review with accolades, I saved my cash for a couple months and pulled the trigger for $325 and free shipping.  Glad I did.  Beautiful looking, great sound.  I'm not an audiophile but I know good sound when I hear it.  And when I want to simply rock with a lot of big sound, I get that too with the A5's.  No distortion at virtually any volume.  Crisp and clean sound.

Good luck.

P.S. If your budget is tight or space is a consideration, check out the model A2.
