Transmitter recognized as a Broadcom BCM2045A Bluetooth Device?

Hello!

When I plug in my Wireless DJ Transmitter (with my computer on) it installs and functions correctly with StreamPoint.  When I restart my computer the wireless transmitter is recognized as a Broadcom BCM2045A Bluetooth Device and wants the correct driver to install (which it doesn't find and, therefore, doesn't function).  If I then unplug the transmitter and plug it back into the USB port it is then recognized and installed correctly.  My operating system is Windows XP Pro (all updates installed) and I have the latest version of StreamPoint installed (1.1.592.1).  Has anyone experienced this issue or know of an appropriate solution?

Many thanks!

Wow - this is a new issue for me. The drivers are embedded in firmware on the device, and they should auto-load when inserted or when the PC is rebooted. It would certainly help if you could document the specifics of your system.

Re: Transmitter recognized as a Broadcom BCM2045A Bluetooth Device?

Hi Nigel,

Verify if the USB connection is securely connected, please execute the following steps:
  1. Verify that the USB Music Transmitter is fully inserted into a USB port on the PC, if needed remove and re-insert securely
  2. Try a different USB port on your PC
  3. If available, try connecting the USB Music Transmitter to a USB port on a second system

Note: If you are using a multi-port USB extender, try plugging the USB Music Transmitter directly into a USB port excluding the use of the multi-port extender

Re: Transmitter recognized as a Broadcom BCM2045A Bluetooth Device?

Hi,
I have just purchased and installed the Wireless DJ and have exactly the same issue as below.  I have tried the things listed in the subsequent replies but still get the same issue. Does anyone else have this issue, has anyone else been able to resolve it?

Any help greatly appreciated

Hi,

Yes I have this very same issue. BCM2045a is found after plugging in the transmitter. Should be either hardware failure or a driver issue. It suddenly stopped working on the same system I've been using the Wireless DJ smoothly on since the day I bought it.

Anyway, since the drivers are embedded in the firmware I'm leaning towards hardware failure on this. The truth is my hardware config on the notebook hasn't changed. I was streaming audio happily, until it distorted twice and then it ceased working.

Since then I have the BCM2045a message popping up when trying to connect the transmitter device. Every USB port on my system works perfectly with other devices.

Next week I will return the transmitter device to the store and try to get a new one. Will report if a new one solves this problem.

Since yesterday I've got the same problem. The transmitter has worked fine for a few months now, but yesterday my PC found new hardware (bcm2045A).

Since that the transmitter does not function anymore.

I've connected the Transmitter to different PC's (XP and Vista) all the same problem.

Is there a solution for this or should I replace the transmitter?

Re: Transmitter recognized as a Broadcom BCM2045A Bluetooth Device?

I had mine replaced under warranty finally. The new unit went in the USB slot and was instantly recognized as the usual Logitech audio transmitter, instead of BCM2045a.

Everything working fine again.

Cheers

After having contact with the Support Desk of Logitech in the Netherlands, I've brought him back to the shop and recieved a new one. This one is functioning as expected.
