I've struggled with DJ since it first came out and got it working more or less consistently - until recently. I'm running Win Xp, and use both Winamp and Media Player. The Streampoint is the latest version available. I don't have any other music software on my system. My music is stored in alpabetized folders on my Y drive, and all my playlists are stored in a separate folder on this same drive. Recently, I wanted to add a couple more playlists, so created them in Media Player and saved it in this folder. I ran the Streampoint Update Library and that's when things went sour. I've got the Library option setup so that the only place it's supposed to look is the Y drive, use the sub-folders, and look for m3u playlists. The Update method is set to Manual. Now, in my Playlist folder, I have nothing but 52 playlists of the .m3u variety, all of which I have used through DJ in the past. So, here I am, pressing the Update Now button and go for a coffee. When I came back, it was finished, and found 18 playlists. I doublechecked my settings, and noted that everything was as expected, except that the software recognized only 18 of the 52. I sampled several of the playlists through MP and they all worked.
After checking this forum, I uninstalled Streampoint, Media Player, deleted the Streampoint .xml file, the Streampoint index file, the Media Player db file. This was done over the course of the whole day, deleting, re-installing, emptying recycle bin, running regedit looking for anything vaguely resembling MP or Streampoint related. Finally, reinstalled Streampoint again and ran the Update. Same 18 playlists and the many many songs.
I pointed the update to a blank folder, and scanned zero playlists. OK.
I moved 10 playlists into a different folder and scanned that - now I got 4 of those. Why not the others? Each one looked the same in Notebook and they all seemed to play the random songs I tried using MP.
I'm at my wits end - it just doesn't make any sense.
Any ideas or suggestions, even bizarre ones would be greatly appreciated.
