Exception Processing Message

[ Edited ]
Hi guys,

This maybe one for BillR. My WDJ has been working sweet, very impressed, oh until I loaded Windows Vista. Then it all went very wrong. However, the mighty fine guys at Logitech did eventually get a new Beta version of Streampoint published and all was well again.

However, yesterday I went to relax in my front room and picked up my WDJ control only to be faced with a message saying "Windows Media Issue" Operation failed".

Likewise when I checked my pc it had no end of these pop up windows saying "exception processing message 0xc000007b parameters ox762e023c ox762e023c 0x762e023c 0x762e023c" where I'd tried to get my music going.

I'm not entirely sure when I've recieved any updates from either Windows or Logitech as both are set to auto and my pc runs 24/7.

Anyone else experieced the same, or BillR have you had this reported before please?

Re: Exception Processing Message

Hi,

I have this exception error/Bad image error - with the beta and the final release. I have tried everything including 6 or 7 replys from the help desk with suggestions for different ways to uninstall/reinstall, clean boot, clear registry etc etc etc etc

No help. Was very upset but then gave up. I get the error once when I switch on the DJ. Once I hit OK on the screen against the error it then works for that session quite well but I always get the same error as you when I start the first song.

By any chance do you have a dell pc or mcafee antvirus? - I just have a feeling that somehow this is related.

Re: Exception Processing Message

Hi Mkot,

Whatever has happened whether it was updates or something (i'm not one for downloading anything unless it's a genuine driver) it knocked out my soundcard functions and my Logitech.  I can't blame Logitech for this one.

It's one of those, reinstall O/S (in repair mode not format and reload) reinstall your drivers and away you go.

All works fine now, but it is a case of overlaying your O/S and drivers again I'm afraid.

Good luck, and if you find a short cut, please do tell the guys out there as no doubt there will be plenty more guys in the same boat coming along.

Re: Exception Processing Message

Its even worse..everytime I press |<< or >>|, or whenever it moves to next song in the list by itself, the execption message comes up twice. Unless I click ok on them, song does not stream, and unknown player error throws up in the remote..WDJ has now become now practically useless for me..

PC config :
VAIO core duo 2, 2GB ram
Vista Premium

 Any solutions please ???

Re: Exception Processing Message

RESOLVED!...Got this solution while googling around..in some of the forums, it is also mentioned that disabling any enhacements for the sound device (in playback devices-->properties in volume control) can also resolve the issue. A VST plugin which I had enabled in WMP 11 caused the problem. Disabling the plug-in in WMP 11 resolves the issue!!

Re: Exception Processing Message

If you have enabled any sound enhancing DSPs in WMP 11 under vista, this error may comes up with streampoint. It is more to do with vista rather than anything else. I got the solution after a lot of googling...the solution was for a different  s/w issue, which led me to try it out. Good luck...Logitech may not be of much help..going by the number of unanswered questions, it does look like they are looking at de-supporting the product or...probably working secretly on an enchanced vista-friendly version of streampoint ( I can always dream..can't I :-)) )

Re: Exception Processing Message

While this may not be a solution to the problem, I have found that using itunes as my player for the Wireless DJ performs without error (as long as you set itunes as your default player).  I am using Vista.  Rather odd how the Apple product interfaces with Vista and Windows Media Player conflicts with its own operating system.

I had trouble figuring out how to switch to itunes as the default for Streampoint after already setting up with Media Player ... turns out that you can switch in the Advanced Settings tab.

Best of luck.

By the way, is there anyway to run Sirius through the player other than streaming all sounds ?

Thanks.
