I'm in total agreement on your observations on these Logitech radios.

Guys, these are possibly dumb questions, but when you talk about your "radio" are you referring to a Squeezebox Duet player (the small box that feeds into your amplifier), or is the "radio" a different Logitec device?
Also, when referring to "firmware" does this mean the firmware in the controller?
FWIW I have a Squeezebox Duet running Squeezeboz server Windows Home Server Version: 7.4.2 - r30215
My controller is running version 7.4.1 r7915
The controller regularly tells me it has updated the software but nothing seems to change, (except that it will no longer play certain WMA files which I have raised another thread about).
While there are a few minor bugs with my current set up it works reasonably well now that I am accustomed to it's quirks and foibles. My server is telling me there is an update available but after reading the threads on this forum I have been too nervous to allow it to update for fear of it not working again ![]()
Please Logitec, get your act together and support these products in a professional manner!

a radio is a specific type of SB player (radio, touch, transporter, boom, SB3, duet (receiver + controller).
edit: And note that I'm running SbS 7.5.2 on Windows XP machine serving Transporter, Boom, Touch, and controller, and have no issues in playing, synching between players, etc.
edit #2: Moving away from Windows Media format would be a very good idea. If you have these in lossless format, convert to FLAC (also lossless). FLAC is handled natively on SB players. dbpoweramp or foobar2000 are excellent multi-purpose converters.
