Problems with iTunes 7.6

Problems with itunes 7.6

So I rushed out and got itunes 7.6 for movie rentals. Since I installed itunes 7.6 Music DJ will not recognize that iTunes is installed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and it simple shows that iTunes is not installed.

Any ideas?

Re: Problems with iTunes 7.6

I too have had major problems with the new Itunes 7.6, I installed it just fine to my mac and it runs fine until I plug in my Ipod Nano. When the ipod is plugged in I cannot access anything on it or erase or add, and then, my whole computer freezes up. I can't even restart it from the apple symbol. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it but exactly the same problem occurred. I can't even find 7.5 anywhere! So now I can't change out anything in my Ipod and I don't know what to do to for a solution to this problem.

Your post has nothing to do with the Music DJ. The issue at hand is the Music DJ and not iTunes. Anyone else?

Re: Problems with iTunes 7.6

You might try this...I had problems playing anything after I installed itunes 7.6.1.9 There is a file called mediaplayer.xml in the Documents and Settings\"your user folder"\Local Settings\Application Data\Logitech\StreamPoint\CurrentVersion directory. You can open this with notepad to edit. Scroll down until you see the itunes version listed after "miniversion" on the itunes line. Change whatever version is in there to the version listed under the help in your itunes. Just hit save and you should be set.

I saw this the other day in this forum so I tried it and now I'm up again!

Hope this helps. I'm in XP, so this file might be somewhere else in Vista.

Re: Problems with iTunes 7.6

Thanks. I sold this piece of junk for a $200 loss on eBay. I have an ipod touch and purchased a add on piece of software that resides on the PC. You can then control all of iTunes from the safari browser on the iPOd touch. This solution is 100 times better than the Music DJ. The software is Signal and can be found at www.alloysoft.com

good luck!
