Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I, too, am posting here because I'd love to upgrade from the Microsoft Wireless Racing Wheel to the Logitech G25 setup. Especially now with Forza 3 around the corner. The Fanatec system would do but it's more than I was hoping to spend.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I would like to just point out to the thread the following facts as a final, definitive answer:

To make a wheel for a platform requires the cooperation of many companies. That being said, we like selling products, and would always like to sell more products to new markets. Unfortunately, not all of the requirements lined up, and we were unable to pursue this product.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

Guys, Logitech clearly has some licensing problems with MS and the 360 that cannot be overcome at the present time. However, they have already pointed out indirectly how we can sort the issue for ourselves and enable existing hardware to work on the 360, re read the entire thread and understand there is a need for them to be somewhat cryptic in their replies.

If you are not technically competent, speak to someone who understands how controller boards and the USB VID/PID  for different platforms work; then and ask them how they can be integrated or switched with a simple toggle switch using a fairly simple hardware mod.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

Charles: if some tinpot little company like Fanatec can produce a multi-platform wheel, surely Logitech has the clout to also be able to make such a product, even if it's a G26 or G27 or G30.

When is it hapenning? Make it so.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I can't get into the details, but unlike smaller companies, we really have to dot our "i"s and cross our "t"s and really play by the rules. I can't get into details much beyond that due to various NDAs, but that's the fact of the matter.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

Surely now Logitech have a case to claim that the product exists from another manufactuer and there is high demand for it - so you can buy both licenses or whatever needs to be done?

The whole thing is outrageous

[ Edited ]

There already is a Logitech wheel for Xbox360 - The DriveFX wheel. I don't get how that plastic cheapo wheel could be released, if the high quality wheel can't be released. Very annoying with Forza 3 coming out soon.

Could this be because Sony pays Logitech to not include Xbox360 support in their high end wheels? I guess that kind of limiting of competition is not illegal, but it sure is annoying and doesn't make me feel like buying Logitech products for platforms that they do support either.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I know I have already posted on this forum already but I still feel that I need to write some more.

Forza 2 is a simply outstanding console game.  Forza 3 looks even better.  However can you imagine how good it would be behind the wheel of a G25?

Anyone used a Logitech wheel for Richard Burns Rally will know how good they are.

Perhpas we should all get together and protest somewhere.  Harness gamer power.  But where?  Outside Logitech?  Outside Microsoft or outside sony?

No logitech wheel for Forza 3 is simply an injustice!  Can you not set up a shadow company and rebadge the wheels something else?

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

Ha, while that would be cool, I'm sure the legal ramifications would come back and bite us in the **bleep**.

That being said, we would have, and would, like to produce a wheel for this market. Unfortunately there are non-Logitech factors that have prevented us from doing so. Saying any more would either be repeating myself or violating my NDA.
