Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

[ Edited ]

If you are able to make controllers for xbox 360, and wheels w/o FFB, but not force feedback wheels, how difficult is it then to simply allow for limited compatibility with xbox, *gulp* w/o FFB? I think F1 Championship Edition on ps3 was initially released this way, likely due to similar licensing problems that lead to no rumble in the ps3 controller. Personally I would prefer to use either my DFP or DFGT (even my old Driving Force, which still works) wheels on xbox without forcefeedback, or even fake FFB like the Drive-FX, than to buy that MS Wheel or Fanatec wheel, which I won't do. If the centering spring can work, that's a bonus.  I suspect  an uncooperative third party not licensing force feedback tech or charging too much.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I will reply to this thread even though the naysayers will say what's the use because hopefully one day Logitech/MS can get over this nonsense. Honestly you make such a great product and would make so much more if you could settle on this.

I still have my MOMO wheel from my PC gaming days which has taken quite a beating and I placed 72nd (Canada) in the GT5 trial using this same OLD MOMO wheel. In contrast  I have gone through 3 xbox 360 wheels and this weekend I picked up a brand new DriveFX wheel(my luck it had never been opened) to finally get rid of the MS wheel glitch. I am a competitive FM3 league racer and it has hit me a few times before (down gear or pause screen mid race) ruining a perfectly good run.

I have been seriously contemplating buying the Fanatec cross platform wheel but would rather go with a product I know can last for years! Come on Logitech take one for the team, suck it up and let's get the ?G28? (dongle for G25/27) out for the 360.

One wheel to rule them all!!!!! :smileyvery-happy:

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I've been wrestling with this problem for a few months now.  I've moved to a PC and bought a G27 (as well as having an Xbox 360).

I'm just asking myself the question why don't I just dump/sell the xbox 360, I don't need it, there are enough online PC players to satisfy my gaming asperations so what advantage is the xbox going to give me - NONE.

On Dirt2 there is a gear change lag problem on the Xbox and all the faster guys are using PS3's.

Microsoft would soon get the message if people dumped/sold their Xbox's and did everything to promote the other gaming consoles.  Perhaps that would make M$ have to come to companies like Logitech and ask them to provide products for their gaming consoles.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I finally just gave in and got a drivefx from ebay. It has really surprised me, and I seriously doubt that the road surfaces in forza are detailed enough to make much of a difference between force feedback and axial feedback. I only wish I the pedals from my DFP and DFGT would work when connected to the drive fx. Still, I think it's a much better, and cheaper, option than the MS wheel. This wheel fills the gap quite well.

I think you would be suprised, the fanatec shows up details the MS wheel can only dream of! While I wait in hope that logitech will make a FFB Xbox360 compatible wheel I won't hold my breath, but i signed up to this forum just to show some support for the others that wait alongside me.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

[ Edited ]

Just signed in to say that microsoft has dropped the strong arm they had on Xbox360 wheels. they are no longer making their wireless FFB wheel. since then there have been 2 new wheels to come out that are 360 compatible. 1 wheel is cross compatible with the ps3/pc.  with that said, here's hope that logitech can update their wheels to have xbox 360 support, now that microsoft is no longer in the wheel race.

edit: seems like one article was a typo. there's only one new wheel. it's the mad catz wireless wheel.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

I was wondering if with this adapter we can use the g25 and others ps3 wheels on xbox 360.

Its a new adapter that converts ps2/ps3 controllers to xbox 360.

http://cgi.ebay.com.sg/PS3-and-PS2-xBox360-Controller-converter-PRO-/110522814997

this version doesn't need a wired xbox 36o controller to work. It's plug and play.

I know that converts the ps3 usb controller very well with no lag, but the wheel i dont know.

If someone knows please reply me.

I'm dreaming to use a g25 to play forza 3.

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

Hi CharlesB I have just spent the last, 6 hrs reading all the treads related to the G25 on a xbox360, & all the spin off leads. The most promising is the USB VID PID. From what I understand, after many forums, each manufacturer, has a list of hardware supported, using the VID PID. Are you suggesting somebody post the frantic VID PID ??? If so, how does one determine this info? Secondly, I have also read that, people have made there own USB controllers, in order to set there desired USB VID PID, I assume in order to make unsupported hardware work. Are you suggesting we can make the G25 work on the xbox 360? Can we please have a little more guidance ........

Re: G25 for Xbox 360???

Hi, don't know about that adaptor, but check this one out. http://www.xcm.cc/xcm_cross_fire_converter.htm Apparently this does the trick for a G25, but no confirmed results.
