X360 Drums

I see that there is finally a cheaper alternative to the ION drum rocker as drum peripherals go... but its only for the PS3...

By any chance are you brilliant guys at logitech going to have a X360 version avaliable in the near future???

PS. I live in Australia so coming by licenced 3rd party peripherals is hard to come by other than ebay

Re: X360 Drums

Who knows? The drums weren't announced for the PS3 until the guitar was on the market for a while...

I hope you'll release them soon (maybe wiht GH 5?). I know it's not technological problam (you just stuck wires to ABXY and put x button in the middle :smileyvery-happy:) . Probably you have some issuses with M$ :smileywink: Now when we have your guitar. I don't think that M$ will try to create their own GH controlers. They just want more $$$. Am I right?:smileywink: (rhetorical. question). Anyway

I don't want to buy red octane new drumset. Honestly I don't have the old one too. I don't want it. I read enought about it :smileyembarrassed:

I don't want ion drumset either. So... waiting for you guys.

Re: X360 Drums

I've received my drum controller last Friday and I decided to write a few words. So.. the drum pads are great they're imho on ION level. Cymbals also feel fine for me. The hole construction is really stable it's not jumping like stock GH Drumset. The pedal is quit big (which is good) but it's rather lightwieght. I think it's not a problem because rubber under the pedal is holding quiet good even on carpet.

But I've experienced a little sensitivity problem. When I hit yellow (hit-hat) sometimes the red pad (snare) also response. I've solved problem by loosing screws which holds pad and cymbal (it's something you can't do on stock GH drum set). The trembles conducted cymbal with pad. For now it works fine. But I'm concerned about this fact. There is no problem with orange cymbal- green pad trembles. They work fine. Maybe the red one is too sensitive?

Maybe some comment from Logitech?

But Overall for me 9/10

Re: X360 Drums

[ Edited ]

Just got my set yesterday.  There is a pretty big flaw with the cymbal design.  The screw in lock on top can either tighten or loosen with play.

Mine played perfectly for 3 hours.  Then the screw on the yellow cymbal almost came off.  I noticed it wobbling.  So I screwed it back in and tested the orange (so tight it was hard to loosen but I hadn't done it up that tight).

Since then the yellow cymbal has been oversensitive or, simply, plain broken.  It registers double hits fairly often and sometimes goes off on it's own.  I've had star power activate when just hitting the orange cymbal.

I was actually playing this very softly as you don't need to whack it.  And it's lasted a whole 3 hours.  Not impressed so far for what is a very big outlay for this type of product.  I'm going to ring support on the issue soon but I doubt I'll get much more than send it back in and how I'm going to do that for a product this size I don't know.  And then the waiting....

Initially - experience couldn't have been better.

3 hours later - as sour as it gets after spending this much money precisely to avoid this exact problem.   I expected better quality from Logitech.

edit: update.  Support did suggest sending back.  Having some issues with the logistics with the seller though.  So I've still had the drums and have managed to mostly (but not completely) eliminate the problem by putting the symbols on more of an angle.  The more vertical you make them the less the chance of a double hit or going off due to vibration.  At the moment they're too vertical for my liking (as vertical as they'll go) but they do work much better.  I'll only get a double hit once or twice a song if that (if I'm careful not to hit too hard).

The orange has also started double hitting sometimes when I place it more horizontal.  This is obviously a design flaw as the odds of both my cymbals being faulty are very low.  The flaw could be fixed with a slightly different (less flimsy and wobbly) cymbal mount design.  Don't skimp on the important bits.  Everything else is solid where it needs to be.

The pedal is also going a bit "squishy".  I wouldn't advise folllowing the challenge on Logitech's advertising regarding the solid design of the pedal that says give it all you've got. You'll probably break it.

The product needs recalling and redesigning. Shame.  It's almost there but not quite. So close.

Re: X360 Drums

I too just bought these drums and i'm pretty unhappy with the kick pedal, it seems to drop hits and whenever i hit it, it drops my combo, i'm usually lucky to have a 2x multipliyer while using the logitech pedal.

i was also wondering if this drum set supports expert+, because as far as i could tell none  of my other pedals work with it.
