Check in in the GH Studio how the pedal is performing. Perhaps it's triggering double hits if your multiplier is dropping. Either that or you're simply hitting it too late which is what I was doing first up. It took a little while to get a feel for the pedal and lowering it (with the screw underneath) got the feel right. The Red Octane Guitar Hero drum kit pedal kinda works as it's basically the same sort of design but I found with mine (experimenting for the daughter who preferred the smaller pedal) that the Logitech kit just didn't pick it up unless you hit it pretty hard. I guess the Logitech pedal is far more sensitive.
My kit ships back tomorrow (finally). I have been playing it and the pedal didn't get any worse after the initial "squishiness" crept in. Oddly enough the yellow cymbal improved and the orange got much worse. Then the red drum started missing notes randomly. Then the cymbals started missing notes when not double hitting. Just a mess. It could well be the drum brain in my case but it doesn't quite add up.
I'll be sure to update when I get the replacement as I'll soon know if it's a dodgy product or I just got a lemon. WIth so little info available on the web (that I can find) I feel I should contribute if I can and this forum will return searches on google.

Hmmm... I got my kit this weekend and I am not too pleased with it to be honest. I used a stock Guitar Hero World Tour kit before this.
First thing, before it even arrived i made sure to order a Rock Pedal and an Omega Twin Adapter RB -> GH as I read that the pedal for the Logitech kit was terrible, and I am glad I did, 10/10 to the Rock Pedal! (yes the pedal that comes with Logitech kit is quiet bad and if possible even noisier than the stock one)
The pads are allright, but lack the bounce and response that I am used to on the WT kit. I assume these are more towards the Rock Band drum kit, with harder and more of a THACK sound rather than the THUD of the WT kit.
The real killer for this kit is the cymbals, just terrible design. I thought I would be getting quieter and better cymbals, but no, these are worse! Feels like I am drumming on a slab of concrete (almost no bounce at all...) when playing the cymbals, the bottom solid plastic piece also gives of alot of reverb/impact and noise due to the super-thin rubber top, which is also "striped" (see pictures for what I mean), which makes no sense... A better design would have been to at least cover the bottom piece with rubber aswell to damped the noise and make the top layer thicker for quieter play and more bounce.
As stated before the caps can come loose, but even if the cymbals are tightened down, both on top or at the base they tend to rotate, making it hard to go thru a full song without adjusting them...
I also noticed during the "free play" sections of certain songs that I have to hit the Logitech drum heds alot harder to generate the same amount of sounds in the game as I would on the WT kit, ie. velocity sensitivety. I can barely hear the sounds from the game over the sound of the sticks hitting the drums.
I will give this kit a few more session so that I can adjust but as it seems now I might just go back to the WT kit. I have also had drops and double hits while playing. I have not been able to top my WT kit top scores as of yet, 2 session in with this Logitech kit...
My top reasons for buying the logitech kit was:
Noise level
The WT kit IMO was quiety noisy, especially the cymbals and the pedal, drym heads were allright.
Logitech kits drumheads are quieter, cymbals 2x noisier and the pedal also 2x noisier.
Stability
My WT kits frame is sort of bent slighty which makes it "double hit" the floor as I drum, incredibly annyiong. Also the left telescope pole of the frame tends to lower during play due to a worn out latch.
The Logitech kit wins that round as the aluminum frame is nice and solid.
Adjustability
Not being able to adjust the drumheads was bothering me slightly but not too much.
Logitech kit should be better but due to the rather large groove/notch spacing there really arent that many logical positions for either drumheads or cymbals. Click one notch down and the pads are pointing too much down, one notch up and you have to stand up to play properly. Same goes for the cymbals, one notch down, they are obstructing the drumheads, one notch up and you have to really reach to hit them... The key adjustment that I like and use is the in/out movement of the drum heads, also being able to angle the cymbals is nice but the latches, again, are too far appart making it only reasonable to do +/- one notch up or down to get a comfortable angle.
Cymbals
I though the WT kit cymbals were bad! Noisy and somewhat unrealiable. I would get occassional drops and double hits but nothing too bad.
Here the Logitech kit fails in all categories for the cymbals. The lack of rebound on impact is a major let down compared to the WT kit. The noise is probably 2x more and they do not stay in place as stated above.
Pedal
The WT pedal was allright but felt flimsy with the top plastic design and it was loud when pouding against the floor, at least it stayed in place on my hardwood floor.
Logitechs pedal is more solid with the metal top plate but is louder, feels harder to get good hits with and it does not stay very well in placey while playing.
Rock Pedal highly recommended as a replacement!
So, in conclusion I didnt really get any of what I had expected from this kit, at 250 USD i was really hoping for something better.

Good summary from your initial experience above but I would give it a bit more of a go. You do get used to the feel of the kit and going back to the WT kit you can really see that it is much better. As long as it works and doesn't give you double hits or drops notes. If the kit holds up I might invest in a new pedal - or even combine it for double bass with a splitter.
I got my replacement the other day but haven't got around to unpacking it. I'm going to put it through the ringer and see if it holds up. If the same things start happening then we can safely say the kit is defective and all units should be recalled and the product taken off the shelf.
But I'll see how it goes first. The only other option, if this kit fails, is an expensive electronic kit or buying and replacing the standard WT kit every few months which will add up after a while.
I love drumming to these rythm games, as does the whole family, but not THAT much.

I gave it a few more goes and after having adjusted the Logitech kit to match the setup of the WT kit (angles, height, placement) of everything it did feel better to play. The cymbals are still my biggest concern with the lack of rebound and high noise level but other than that it performs very well, so I guess I will keep it for now and see how things turn out.

Funny thing just happened that I thought I would share. Just had some family members over for dinner, who had previously seen my play on the WT kit. I did a little show off of my drumming skills on the Logitech, and their first reaction was "Woah, those are so mouch louder than your old drum kit.". :-(

Yes they're loud.
I've been trying my replacement kit. Double hits on the yellow cymbal again. It's very rare but it does happen. I suspect it will get worse and the orange will start to go soon. I'll keep running it in but this looks like a full refund job at this stage. I'm not paying 3 times the price of the WT kits to have one that doesn't work. Perhaps I'd be better off trying the new GH kit that they've modified to (apparently) be more durable.
Looks like this hole in the market is still there to fill. I really would have thought Logitech would have done this properly but this product seems to have been designed by a room full of chimps and quality tested by three-toed sloths.
Logitech's reputation for quality has been tarnished here and their outright dishonesty in marketing is disgusting. All vendors throw a little spin on their products but the advertising for this product is outright lying which is not only ethically disgraceful it's prohibited by laws in many countries.
Taken straight from their PR:
"fully adjustable"
No it's not. It's about 10% adjustable.
"The drum heads have a lively feel and barely make a sound."
They make a racket and have no rebound at all. The cymbals are especially bad.
"Designed for Guitar Hero®, the controller lets you take advantage of all the latest game features."
No it doesn't. Accent notes work randomly. Hardly ever.
"Sets up quickly, folds flat"
It takes the longest of any product in its class to set up by far. And it does NOT fold at all. There's no folding.
"the pedal is highly durable. So you can go ahead and give it all you’ve got."
Yeah... I wouldn't recommend it.
This claim:
"Extended battery life"
Is true. The WT drum kits chewed through batteries. The logitech set would be about 50 times more efficient there (no I'm not exaggerating).
In spite of the false advertising the kit is good to play and doesn't feel flimsy like the WT one (and doesn't need new batteries every day). When it's working it performs quite well but the cymbal double hits and the cymbal design (I needed multigrips to untighten the plastic lock-nuts after playing one song) are killing it.
Logitech will take a loss on this one as it's far too expensive for people to not bother refunding. And it's already earning a very bad reputation so it's not going to sell well in the long term.
Fix the cymbal design and you've got a winner (pedal is a bit crappy too). And send me the new cymbals! ![]()

The "double hit" on the cymbals is worrying me (I've only heard a few reports of this: So far our contact rate to sales on the customer support side has been a little low, which is usually a good thing, but I want to track these issues). I'll PM you to see what I can do about swapping that cymbal.
I'll tell you why I'm interested in this: We spent a lot of time coding some nifty features into the drum kit's "brain". Beyond the drum kit's autocalibration routine (That on the fly watches how you play and adjusts to what YOUR soft and hard hits are like, and registers those as such. And then if someone else takes up the drum kit, adjusts to those hits within seconds), the drum kit also looks for false hits to reduce those. If you're seeing double hits, there's probably something localized in the cymbal. Though, could you try something for me? Could you swap the two cymbals and see if it follows the cymbal, or if the problem lies in the brain?

This is the second set I've had. The problem is with the cymbal design. It's pretty basic. I can reproduce the double hits in GH studio. The last kit was terrible and both cymbals went beyond playable in a week.
I haven't had as much play-time with this one but the double hits are starting to ramp up the more I play it. I'm guessing the cymbals slowly fall to bits or something. The big plastic screws don't hold it sturdy and they randomly tighten/untighten/fall out. If I put the cymbals horizontal I can get double hits all over the place. If I put them on an angle I get less.
With the last kit I kept adjusting the angle until they were as vertical as they could go and eventually even that would double hit all the time. This kit hasn't been played anywhere near as much yet. I'll give it more time. With the last kit the yellow cymbal levelled out with double hitting but the orange cymbal became ridiculous.
I swapped the cymbals on the last kit and found that the problems followed the cymbal so it wasn't drum brain. I'll try that with this one eventually.
As for not hearing many stories I guess people are either returning them, are inexperienced or copping it on the chin because every single person I know with one of these kits with enough skill to notice it has some problem with double hits on the cymbals - though it's usually much rarer than my last kit.
I have to play it in more but today I noticed it went through a patch of double hitting. For about a minute double hits were constant. I adjusted the angle of the cymbal and they mostly stopped. Not a good sign. I'll update as I go along and find time to really play it in.

My understanding is the black port is the same as the one on the stock set, which as far as I know the function remains a mystery. The stock set uses a y-splitter to the pedal port which should be the same for this set. I don't think that the guitar hero sets need a special splitter unlike the rock band kits, so a regular headphone splitter should work.
Just found an offical response to pretty much the same question
Hi Chris,
Sorry for the confusion. The drum controller has a single kick pedal connection, but more than one pedal can be connected using a splitter connector. We expect to offer a replacement pedal kit soon, and the replacement kit will include the splitter. So if you order a replacement pedal, it can be used as a second pedal. The Wireless Drum Controller is also compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour Bass Kick Pedals, using a 3.5 mm mono or stereo male to two female splitter.
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
Ruben
