Freepulse headphones volume

I've noticed that the volume from my freePulse headphones is a whole lot quieter than my other wired headhones (just a simple set of earbuds, so no extra volume control). Is there some sort of volume limiter on the wireless headphones? I've noticed that certain tracks (podcasts especially) tend to be really quiet when using the wireless headphones, and I almost always have to crank the volume all the way up on the ipod to hear anything (and then fine control via the freepulse volume control). Is this typical behaviour?

Re: Freepulse headphones volume

Hi Chris,
This is typical behavior for what are essentially analog connected headphones.. There is no amplification on the headphones. It controls the volume being sent to it from the device it is connected to. The battery component on the headphones would have to be considerably larger than it is in order to provide amplification.

Respectfully disagree with above statement.

Chris, please be sure that your ipod volume is turned all the way up and turn off the automatic volume limiter if it is a function of your model ipod. If you have done both, I am at a loss. The FreePulse volume is adequate for me but may be too low for others. Hope this helps.

Re: Freepulse headphones volume

The volume limiter is off, and the ipod volume is all the way up, so that's not the problem. Things are more than loud enough on my wired headphones, but the freepulses are just quieter overall. The only solution might be to change the gain on the problem tracks manually in itunes, since it only seems to be a real problem on podcasts (which might be seen as quieter than typical music tracks).
