Iphone 3GS has stopped working with my Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus

I have been happily playing my ipod/iphone 3GS on my Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus, and a while ago it stopped working.

It is very annoying, as I have done all the trouble-shooting from various forums.  Nothing has worked.

I need some help to fix this, otherwise I have an expensive phone charger!

The charge function works, but it now tells me everytime this device may not work etc... it did that occasionally before but always worked.

I have rebooted my iphone, I have reset the factory settings, I have powered down and put it on the docking station then powered up.  Nothing works.

The iphone settings show version 4.2.1, not sure if that is the OS number or not.  However when I plug it into my laptop/itunes, it says it's up to date.

I am desperate for a solution, otherwise I need to return my Logitech device under warranty, since it should work with new software, no?

Re: Iphone 3GS has stopped working with my Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus

Hi jakelayla,

Please try to reset the Pure-Fi Express Plus:

1. Place the Pure-Fi Express Plus in Standby mode

2. Hold down the Shuffle and Repeat buttons for 5 seconds.

Also please do a soft reset on the iPhone:

1. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons for 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Once the phone restarts, test it again. You may also want to test through the 3.5mm aux connection, or with another iOS device. If none of these work, the speaker is likely defective and you can contact customer care in your region for a warranty inquiry.

Re: Iphone 3GS has stopped working with my Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus

Sorry, I didn't realise I wouldn't get an email if a response was posted, so have only just checked to see if there is a reply.

A couple of things, can you clarify what you mean EXACTLY by in standby mode. Instructions don't mention this.

Is it:

1. Plugged in, power on at wall, orange light on at logitech unit, or

2. Plugged in, power on at wall, orange light off at logetch unit, or

3. Something else?

Sorry, but I have tried to reset with no luck.  Seeing as instructions make no mention of what 'standby mode' actually means, you'll need to be clearer.

The unit works with a friend's Ipod 4.   I actually have an Iphone 3G, not 3GS as I first stated.   I have done some searching and see there are persistent logitech/iphone 3 issues.  My iphone software is up to date, so I can only conclude this unit does not support the latest apple/itunes software.

If this is the case, do you have drivers to update this? Otherwise I shall need to return it for a refund as it is useless. I am not intending to buy a new iphone to do this!   My bluetooth stopped working with the iphone but that has easily updated and now works again.

Re: Iphone 3GS has stopped working with my Logitech Pure-Fi Express Plus

If another iOS device is working, then it is likely the problem lies in your iPhone, I would suggest resetting it as per the previous instructions (hold the home and sleep buttons for 6 seconds). If that does not work I would contact Apple to see if they have any suggestions.

As well just in case, if you have put a plastic/rubber protective case around the iPhone, it may prevent the adapter from making a full connection, try removing it if you have one.
