Does the sound work OK when using Skype on my iPad3? 

Also do all the functions on the iPad work when the stand power supply is not plugged in? For instance can I use the stand as a tripod for taking videos outdoors etc?

Now that I have bought one I am going to answer my own questions.

1. Yes, it does work OK with Skype. With power on the sound comes out of the stand speakers OK. I have not tried the Apple Facetime.

2. Yes, the stand works as a camera with no power, taking stills & videos OK, BUT with no power on you cannot hear any sound until the iPad is undocked, and then of course only though the iPad speaker.

It is a shame that no one, not even Logitech can provide the answers to these basic questions. It has taken me over 5 days of internet searching and  asking in shops about if these stands work with the new iPad and in the end I had to resort to buying it to find out.

It's very pity, that there is no sound when the iPad is in the stand and the stand is not connected to the power line. My Lenco stand does!! Why not the Logitech stand ?
