No sound from Logitech Rechargeable Speaker Dock S715i when I plug in my Ipod Touch

My Speaker dock was working fine, but now when I plug my Ipod into it no sound is coming from the speakers. Any idea what the problem could be?

Hello mpq

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try to help resolve the issue:

1. Make sure the speaker dock is powering ON

2. Make sure the Ipod is securely docked

3. Try testing the speaker dock running only with the battery power and then test it too while pugged in.

4. Try resetting the speaker dock:

                            - Turn the Speaker dock ON then OFF

                            - hold the power button for 5 seconds (light should blink)

5. Try resetting your iPod too.

6. Try other ipods too if possible

I had a similar problem.  I tried all of the suggested troubleshooting, and nothing worked.  THEN realized that my iPhone case was getting in the way.  When I removed the case, the problem went away.

Re: No sound from Logitech Rechargeable Speaker Dock S715i when I plug in my Ipod Touch

Just bought the S715i and iPhone works great on it. Then I plug in my iPod touch and the volume bar disappears on the ipod and I get no sound at all. the iPod shows it is playing and charging but no volume slider at the bottom. Strangely the airplay control stays there and when you touch it it say Dock Connector as chosen. This should work so what is up. Is it an iPod setting somewhere that needs to be changed??

Re: No sound from Logitech Rechargeable Speaker Dock S715i when I plug in my Ipod Touch

Just to add. If anyone is reading. The iPod was completely restored to factory settings and reset. It seems to be a software conflict because as I said before the volume slider disappears when connected to the dock. Yet when still connected to the dock when I hit the airplay icon (which still  stays there) I chose Apple TV the volume slider reappears to work correctly with the Apple TV. So there is some conflict with the iPod touch 4th generation and this Logitech product. Which is strange since it was designed for it. Suggestions welcome  before it is returned.

Re: No sound from Logitech Rechargeable Speaker Dock S715i when I plug in my Ipod Touch

I have been using my(Amazon) unit for about 6 months with several iphones and ipod/touch devices, with no issues.  But the other day, my itouch did not work.  Another ipod did, then it too stopped working.  Now my itouch says "this device not supported" even though no updates have been installed.  Tried the suggestions, and any variation of them, but no luck.

Please advise.

Hello ironmonkey5,

Another step that you can try is to clean the connector on the S715i. You can try cleaning it with compressed air as dust or any dirt can cause connection issues too. If the issue persists, you can contact the Logitech Support Team of your region for a warranty claim. The Logitech Rechargeable Speaker Dock S715i has a two year limited hardware warranty.
