Pure Fi Anytime Distorted sound

Hi,

I got this problem where my Pure Fi anytime produces distorted sound.

This is already my second one with the same problem.

At first i tought it was my ipod touch, but i didn't use it with this one, only the radio, but it got the same problem. I plugged it in at a different place in my room. Same problem occured. Went back to the store, but they can't keep switching my docks.

Problem exist all the time, but the first 2 min i turn my dock on, i can't hear anythin. Afther that the distorted effect fades away till i can hear music, but still heavy distorted, like listening to a radio with bad tuning...

So any idea's?

I did try to reset

Hi tok,

There is a potential issue with cold temperature environments (10 degrees C / 50 degrees F or less) and the Pure-FI Anytime. Some units were made with a sensitivity to cold temperatures and take a couple of minutes to warm up. The result is garbled audio for 2-4 minutes depending on how cold the room is where the Pure-Fi Anytime is placed. This has been resolved at the factory. If moving the Anytime to a warmer room is not possible, please contact Technical Support for a replacement.

We aplologize for any inconvenience.

Re: Pure Fi Anytime Distorted sound

idd... now you mention this...

my PFA is in my bed room, and at night and when i'm at work, the heat is turned off until i get home...

and the only time the distortion occures is when i wake up, and when i get home and use my ipod.

Now my room is warm, and the distortion is gone.

thx for the help.

Will contact Tech

Re: Pure Fi Anytime Distorted sound

Hi I am also having the same problem of the distorted sound. My room does not get cold, we are in summer here in Argentina. It only happens when I turn it on and after about five minutes it goes away. I thought it had something to do with that we had no battery, but we changed it and the same thing happens. Thanks Nico.

I have been having the same problem and as we are just coming out of summer and record temperatures so it's not been cold here (Melbourne Australia), it does get better over about 10 minutes, but its a horrible sound to wake too and really starting to regret this purchase.

Yes I read the post and I am having the same problem as the OP, but It is not due to the cold as I have stated, I was looking for help with this issue as its the same problem.

If this is the normal way that customers are treated here with Issues, it will have a bearing on future purchases by me an those I have dealings with in the future.

I guess I will find no help here.

Hi,

What I was trying to say is that you are NOT having the same issue as the people in this thread as they have a cold start issue. If all the "distorted sound" posts were in one thread there would be mass confusion as there are possibly a million causes of distortion.

If you could start a new thread and list your symptoms and what you are playing, eg an iPod, the radio, through the Aux connector and anything else that might be of help you might get some answers.

As to "normal" treatment, I like to think I help people that first try to make the issue clear and that includes any relevant information.

Merely stating a symptom is not enough information.

Compounding nicovaz's hijacking a thread marked as a solution by starting a new issue is not a great way to get your issue resolved.

I understand that I have some responsibilities here, but so do the posters with the issues.

Re: Pure Fi Anytime Distorted sound

Very very Disappointed in this product with the sound problem , went to take it back to the store i brought it from and they wouldnt exchange the product cause i could'nt find the receipt even though the product has a 2 year warranty. so i ran customer support line and they went through the reset procedure but there was no reset on the Australian models not that i can find anyway....???. So they say temperature is the problem for the Audio distortion ..... Why is there a Fix for the problem, is there a resistor or diod at fault that can be changed in the unit ...???? but looks like im stuck with a faulty product that cant be Changed very very pissed off with it and looks like i will never ever buy another logitech product again...

Thanks for a great waste of time and money....

Hi Dan,

There is a reset procedure for the Anytime at the top of this forum in the form of a sticky post.

On the bottom of the Anytime there is a sticker with "EAxxx" printed on it. Could you tell me what the sticker says? Also, could you PM me with your case number from your support call?

I understand you are upset, just as I would be. Please bear with me and I will try to resolve your issue.
