i have the EA843 and it has stopped working all together.
Its about 1 year old.
i came home last night and it just said 00 on the display, no buttons would do anything. I unpluged the power and the 00 stayed there. so the batteries aren't bad, but i replaced the batteries anyway.
Now it is just dark, no light, no nothing.. I kept the batteries in and last night, about 1 AM it just turned on.. its not plugged into the wall, just bateries. so we tried to set the time, and by the time we got finished it froze up again.. today, nothing. no numbers at all on display.
Is there a recall on these units?

Hi,
I can't remember the model number of my unt, all I know is that it is a purefi anytime. Someone on this thread has told me that there has now been a recall and I have also heard of people getting refunds, although it does take some time and patience!
Cheers,
Dave

Hot hot hot 42 degrees and my sound systems are still distorted. Can't all be blamed on cold start. I have tried to go back to store as advised by Logitech previously as I have 2 of these ornamental sound pieces but no receipt no refund.... So like many others I will bypass any future Logitech electronics and purchase a brand that is willing enough to stand behind their brand and admit when the have problem and recall and fix..12 months old and useless and have been for quite some time

Well considering it is 12 months and u didn't doanything before hand and you don't have a reciept or refund they shouldn't have to do a thing, this one thing hasn't stopped me buying logitech, i have bought plenty of thee things that all work brilliant, this has only been a once off and there are a lot of other companies that have faulty products at one stage or another including Sony

Kylbalsam seems to be sort of on the right track, at least by disturbing the approximate area of the board. But this is not a fix by any means. I am sick of MIKE_M trying to cover up Logitech's responsibility for a badly designed product. My "Pure Fi Anytime" went onto the garbage last week. It didn't survive the disassembly process when I finally decided to fix it once and for all.
This is hardly surprising. Logitech has been making P.O.S. products that don't work for decades. Very much like Iomega, they just stonewall and ignore the customers when the howling starts, and miraculously, they somehow stay in business. I have owned many Logitech products over the years and every one has been a dud. I didn't buy the Pure Fi Anytime, it was given to me by somebody who didn't really tell me why they didn't want it anymore. I soon found out. I don't recommend anybody to buy Logitech anything.

I need to know some more data abut new capacitor which I need to replace with old one.
So if you know something please write it to me.
I dont have recipt so for me guarantee is not working.
I like my pure fi but I need to fix this problem.
Logitech told me that they can give me 50% discount for new product, but they dont have anything like that. I need FM radio and Iphone dock. So its better to fix it.

Hi,
I have tried to change the capacitor with another one found on an old graphic card (greater capacitance, I think)
It works fine for a couple of hours but, unfortunately, it doesn't work anymore at audio level : Can't turn FM or iPod on.
Time display is Ok, alarm can be selected/deselected but no more sound and changing the alarm time is difficult because the system returns to time display quickly.
When I connect my iPhone, it start to charge, then stop one second later, then start again and so on !
When I disconnect the external power, it runs on the internal battery and alarm time can be changed normally.
Any idea of what component must be verified/changed ? It seems to be on power regulation...
If someone has got this problem and fixed it, it would be great to give me information.
Thanks by advance,
Jean-Louis
