Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

My daughter has a new one of these docking stations. She can't get it to make any sound at all now. It was ok when we bought it 4 weeks ago and she has been using it ok till now. She has not made any changes to it. She just turned it on, put her Ipod in and no sound.

We have checked forums, read instructions, but none of this has helped.

Pleeeeeeeaaaaaaasssssssseeeeeee help as they are too expensive to just not work!

Thanks

Re: Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

Hi,

Is it plugged into the wall AC outlet? Did you try a different outlet? Is it running on batteries?

Did you try connecting a different iPod?

Did you try resetting the iPod?

Did you try resetting the Pure-Fi Express plus? (instructions at the top of this forum.

Thank you for your post.

Re: Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

I have the same problem -no sound. Have tried all your suggestions without success. Tried resetting the device with no success. Everything else works ie the iPod charges with it, the remote can adjust the volume, all the lights come on, just no sound. Is there some simple setting I am missing?

Thanks .

Re: Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

We couldn't get any sound either for the longest time, just stopped working one day. But then we pulled the batteries out (it was plugged into the wall, but we also had batteries inside), kept the AC power connected, and it worked again!

So I guess the unit uses the batteries regardless of whether it is connected to AC or not. And I suppose taking the batteries out forces it to use the AC. This is weird though, because it seemed to operate normally on batteries, i.e. remote working, able to control the ipod, volume knob lights up, etc..so it seems the batteries had power.. though not enough to play music???? damned if I know, just glad it works now!

Hope this helps.

Re: Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

Hey there.

I've had my pure-fi express plus for over a year now. It was working perfectly the whole time.

Then all of the sudden it just stopped working a few months ago.. When I use the aux in or plug an iphone directly on top, the level is very very low and it is just crackling.

Has anyone had any problems with this?

I have opened it up and cannot see any burnt components. The speakers are still working, but seems to be major problem with the amplifier.

Was anyone able to find a service manual for this?

Re: Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

I have Pure Fi Express Plus model s-00067.

Ipod 4th generation model- mc544LL/A  IOS 6.1.2(10B146).

When i dock my i-pod touch 4th gen to the pure-fi express i dont hear any sound. The Ipod is charging fine.  In Aux im able to hear the sound in the speaker.

I tried with a i phone of my friend and it works fine .  Im really stuck as to what is the issue and what should i do to fix this.

Your compatibility chart shows the that it supports 4th gen ipod touch then why does it not work on my ipod.

I have reset my ipod and also did a software software update , still it doesnt work.  I need your help to resolve this please

Re: Pure-Fi Express plus- No sound

I have a Pure-Fi express and when I first got it the volume went all the way to 100 and even since a couple of weeks ago

it seems to stop at 40. Which is still loud but we did use it for party's in a quiet big area.

Any clues, I have tried resetting it but no success.
