PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

Hello! I'm hoping you can help ... I am having some issues with my PureFi Anywhere 2.

Regardless of whether the unit is on battery or AC power, the audio is regularly cutting out. The unit appears to actually turn itself off, out of nowhere. Occasionally, it'll turn itself back on, too. This happens whether the unit is connected to an iPod or to auxiliary input.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes I am having the same problem with my PureFi Anytime. Although it hasn't switched itself on randomly before. I think I have pressed every button imaginable. Hopefully someone can help!

I'm having the same problem.  I'm using them with a mini-jack cord that's running from my laptop to the speakers, and they turn off about every two minutes or so... very frustrating.

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

I have this problem as well. It is intermittant, but annoying. I have also had my Nano 2G freeze in the ON position after being left in the dock for a couple of days with the power plugged in. Had to restore it to turn it off. This is the only time I have ever had to restore this Nano. I have the latest software updates and the latest version of iTunes. My shuffle function also does not seem to activate, either from the PureFi itself, or from the remote. The light on the shuffle button does not come on at all. I have tried the unit under battery power briefly, but after reading, with astonishment, in the instructions, that the battery is not replaceable, I will try and use it only with the power cord. These batteries have a limited number of charge cycles, and often times just fail early. It was inconsiderate that Logitech did not to provide access for replacement. I also have a Mini and the 4G Nano, which I have not tried on the PureFi, so I don't know if the errant behaviour holds for all of them. I have used Logitech products since the mid-1980's and have almost always been satisfied. This is probably the worst of their products I have owned. Too bad, as it has a very decent sound. I would have expected better for the price, and in this "green" age, a product that was not so obviously designed to be short-lived and disposable.

I have the same problem with the Anywhere 2.  It seems to shut off with soft music, or any kind of pause.

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

I have the same problem with my Anywhere 2 using the aux jack on the back of the unit. I seems to work better if my mp3 player's volume is turned ALL the way up, then I turn the speaker's volume down. I hope Logitech fixes this or does a recall. The unit should never shut itself off if it is plugged in.Even on power save (ie on battery), it should be able to detect activity, even low level sound.

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

Hi All,

To those who have hijacked this thread with products other than the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 please post in a separate post.

Troubleshooting steps for the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2:

1. Reset the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2. There is a pinhole on the bottom of the unit. Press it for a couple of seconds while the unit is on.

2. Reset the iProduct

3. Change to a different wall outlet for charging issues, after resetting the Pure-Fi.

4. Try the Aux in jack for no sound issues, after resetting the Pure-Fi.

5. Reseat the battery in the remote, move closer to the Pure-Fi, make sure nothing is obstructing the infrared sensor, make sure the battery protector plastic tab is removed from the remote after resetting the Pure-Fi.

If these steps do not fix the issue, call Technical Support.
