I also have the same problem as everyone else, no point repeating the issue, just wanted to make sure I've added my name to the list of disappointed consumers.

There is no reason these speakers should shut off with the AC power connected. Regardless of AC power connection or input volume level, these speakers will sometimes shut off during a pause in audio of just a few seconds during a song, television program, or conversation.
Again, the manual says a battery saving shutoff can occur after 2-3 minutes of silence with NO AC Power, so any shutoff when plugged in or during a slience of less than 60 seconds is a failure.
It's disappointing - but not surprising - that Logitech is reluctant to admit the obvious flaw. However, the attitude displayed by the Logitech employee in this thread is inexcusable. Mike, if you can't handle inexperienced posters and people criticizing your faulty product, you should get a new job -- or fix your product.
Hopefully they will resolve the issue with the next generation, it's a really nice speaker for an ipod, just not with the aux jack.

I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! It is SO ANNOYING! I listen to classical music and these stupid speakers shut off automatically no matter what I do!
And further, the "75% volume" fix does not work on my ipod Touch 2G because the Logitech speakers automatically change the volume on my ipod once I plug it in! Plus, my Logitech is always plugged in, so it's not the fact it's on battery power.
What the heck. How can you design a product that does this and then claim it's working exactly as intended?

Hi Mike, thanks for the info on how to reset the above - I must say however that I just stumbled on your instruction guide per accident.
( Suppose I should have read the instructions first?)
I have just reset the unit and started playing again working from mains supply - it only played for +-45 minutes and now stopped again.
I have reset it again by depressing the button underneath and will now measure again how long it plays this time.
Regards and I will keep you posted - i don't think this is a permanent solution but will let you know what happened.

Dear Mike, I have been resetting the re-set button now multiple times since I found your solution on this same page and I promised to keep you posted - it is however bad news , the first time Ireset it it played 21 mp songs and then stopped playing.Since then I have been switching from Cd player - RESET, switch to IPOD 2 songs RESET,Switch to PLaying from Hard disc(c: ) RESET once again 2 songs most that it will play and then it switches off.
Can you please send me your direct E-mail address so that we can discuss the problem further - this looks like another TOYOTA RECALL if I look at all the complaints.
Please rerspond to my E-mail at this address

Hi, I to have the same issue as everyone here with the speakers switching off after 2 minutes. Why are Logitech so pig headed and refuse to respond to so many complaints! I don't use the external input much but do need to from time to time and this is just totally unsatisfactory Logitech!

Considering that Logitech is still selling this product for much more than a year after they have been aware of the problem (replacing units if one contacts them directly through customer service), I find it absolutely appalling that they continue to produce and sell this unit to consumers! Unfortunately, the replacement units have the identical problem, and therefore provide absolutely no solution, and the new units in stores seem to have the identical problem.
It seems incredibly willfully dishonest and has tarnished their reputation enough for me that I will never purchase another product from Logitech again. Shame on Logitech. And shame on the companies that sell their products, too.

Same problem here, and because it's under warranty THEY KEEP ON SENDING ME NEW ONES. So far, this is my FOURTH unit in 18 months. My warranty will expire in a month and they already told me they won't replace my unit until warranty expires...
Definitely, Logitech must do a recall!
