Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

The "feature" everyone on this thread is complaining about, is now showing up on other manufacturers' products. It is disturbing that these companies turn a deaf ear to the consumer. At the very least, they should offer users a means of disabling the behavior in question. Registering complaints on this forum does NOT get the attention of Logitech, and will not result in solutions to your problem. I posted to this thread many months ago and nothing has changed. We vote with our dollars. Buy a product and it will remain on the shelves. Don't buy it and it will disappear. I have been a Logitech user since the early days of the PC, but I am no longer loyal. Like many other long-standing companies, Logitech probably now has such a large consumer base that they do not feel the need to listen to individual consumer complaints. A thousand consumers are ignored, because fifty thousand others continue to purchase the product. If a product fails to sell, they will simply stop producing it and crank out something else. The fact that the internal batteries on the PureFi are not replaceable by the consumer shows that Logitech sees these devices as throw-aways. Not worth repairing or re-deseigning in mid-run. Just one more piece of plastic trash to be added to a landfill.

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

I repaired my speakers! The problem was the battery! If your speakers turn off in 2-3 minutes after charging 10000 hours... the problem isn't the wall charger, is the battery into the pure-fi anywhere speakers.

If you wanna repair your Anywhere battery problem write me to: adri.logitech@gmail.com

I could sent you a new battery.

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

I have just received a PFA2, and am using it with my iPod Nano 4GB.

1) when it's plugged into AC, it auto-kills volume almost instantly. I turn it up either on the iPod or by remote and it immediately goes back to nothing. This isn't from the AUX input, it's from the iPod.

2) the iPod controls work, and soome of the the remote works, whether on AC or not. But the top panel controls for shuffle/repeat and volume do not work, and shuffle/repeat doesn't work via remote either.

Suprisingly good sound, suprisingly bad user interface/controls.

After 6 months of great use and pleasure with this dock using an ipod classic, iphone and nano, I decided to purchase an airport express to stream airtunes to the dock.....much to my surprise the dock cuts out!! Even with the source volume at 100%

This has occured a week after my harmony one has given up the ghost just outside of it's warranty period.

I was a big fan of logitech....never again

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

I have been having this problem intermittently, and recently it's getting worse. I am a massage therapist and I use my speakers for playing soft music when I am working on clients. Needless to say it is very annoying to have my music shut off once or twice a session.

After reading this thread, I will try the fix that Mike suggested, however, I am not very hopeful having read the results that others have had. This really turns me off of any Logitech products and I will beware next time.

I would suggest that in addition to trying Mike's suggestion (highly unlikely to work, in my experience -- Logitech replaced a few units for me and I tried his solution with all of them, to no avail), that you contact Logitech immediately and directly and tell them that your unit is defective, and about the steps you have taken to remedy it.  Tell them that you want a resolution to the problem.  They were very helpful to me via their email "help", and replaced my defective unit, and the ones after that, though the problem with the product itself has never been resolved -- EVER.  I have units all over the three levels of my home, albeit, they all "cut out" with relative frequency.

Contact Logitech immediately and directly before your warranty runs out!  And remember to use your credit card's extended protection if you paid by credit card and your Logitech warranty has run out.  The "fixes" suggested for this unit just do not fix it!

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

I do not know if anyone is still watching this thread but my pure fi anywhere 2 was experiencing this issue every thirty seconds as well.  I tried all of these suggestions and none of them worked.  I was then able to fix the issue.  I am using a ipod nano with the PFA2.  My wife's ipod was not having the issue.  I was playing an "ocean sounds" MP3 on mine (lots of pauses).

First tried resetting, cranked volume on ipod to 100%, battery and plugged in.  Behavior was the same.  I then started playing with the ipod itself and turned off the equalizer.  If that does not work turn off the "energy saver" feature in the same menu (under settings).  I thought it was the energy saver until I looked at my wife's and it was still enabled on hers.  So now I am thinking it was the equalizer.  I know it seems weird but it fixed my speakers.

I'm still watching this post. Does anyone know if Logitech have fixed this problem in the new S715i?

I have also had this problem from the start using as an external speaker for my (Vista) laptop.  I somehow used to overcome it in i-tunes - I think by running Windows Media first.  Now nothing I do seems to make any difference and the problem occurs after 2 minutes all the time in both Windows and iTunes.  This product is clearly unfit for purpose and unless I get some i satisfaction from Logitech, will take it back to the retailer.  HAVE JUST READ ONE OF THE MANY REPLIES AND ONE SOLUTION SEEMS TO BE WORKING FOR ME.   I HAD THE LAPTOP SOUND TURNED DOWN SOME WAY RECENTLY.  IF YOU TURN UP THE LAPTOP PLAYER VOLUME TO FULL AND THEN CONTROL VIA THE LOGITECH SPEAKER VOLUME BUTTONS IT IS NOT CUTTING OUT ANY MORE FOR ME.  NOT TOTALLY SATISFACTORY AND VERY BAD HANDLING BY LOGITECH BUT PROBABLY AS GOOD AS IT GETS..

Re: PureFi Anywhere 2 Speakers Cutting Out/Turning Off

These speakers are well and truly defective. Apparently previous models are defective also - and Logitech have not only failed to fix the problem but have somehow made it worse. I have tried all manner of configurations and fixes, on not one but three separate units from different batches - and nothing works. They turn off irrespective of power source or sound source.

Despite the hoops that Logitech support have you going through to reset the units, or to replace the units with new ones - they clearly know what the problem is and continue to sell these speakers without warning the retailers of the fault.

Clearly as long as Logitech make more money than they lose on these speakers - they don't care that they waste peoples time and frustrate their customers.

Poor product, poor customer service, and poor ethics.
