I just bought one of these today and found this thread because of the same issue. Furtunately the 75% volume thing works, but I agree that it is a VERY shoddy  "fix" for the issue. Logitech should be ashamed of themselves for KNOWING the product was defective and still selling it that way for roughly 2 years!

It's pretty obvious that Logitech isn't listening to our concerns. I too used to be very enthusiastic about their products,  and after having a few of their high end computer mice crap out prematurely and now this, I can say I'm going to look for other brands when shopping.

If they won't listen to our pleas to fix their product and know that they will sell units regardless of our concerns, I will say this. I work for a rather large retailer that sells these speaker units (as well as other Logitech products) and am asked DAILY about my recommendations and I WILL tell everyone that wants to buy a device that Logitech shares shelf space with that Logitech should be avoided because of its shoddy workmanship and lack of support of their products. I'll say about you what I say about RCA, "They used to be great, but they've gotten too big and "comfortable" to care about what they make and the people who buy them.

Basically, Logitech, I will spread the word to the consumers that come in contact with me to avoid your brand like the plague and to tell their friends. And I will give them all the TRUE reasons why. I might even point them to your forums so that they can see for themselves. So listen to your customers and fix your defective products and your reviews will be golden. Ignore them and word of mouth will be your greatest enemy.

Well, It´s sad to see no reply from Logitech.

However, there must be some kind of fix. I´ll open it if someone have some smart solution like a wire to cut or something like that Even if it helps to remove the battery. Cause now it is useless for me. Nothing of the above solutions helps.

Someone tell me a hardware fix.

Should the unit switch off when NOT running on battery i.e. running on AC power? This is what my unit is doing, switching off after 2 minutes of silence whilst plugged into a wall socket. And yes, I've tried all the resets and other ideas suggested in this post.

  Yikes! Just bought the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 speakers yesterday. Didn't bother looking at reviews, because ALL my Logitech gear has performed flawlessly for years. This morning, I was wondering about power specs, navigating your website, when I ran across this thread. NOW I'm afraid...I had it cut out once using the aux jack yesterday (first few hours of use), but the entries about no battery life, freezing up the music device, as well as hearing that the cutting-out problem seems to be, shall we say, rather prevalent. Based on the many experiences shared by other folks on this thread, I guess my question is - can we (the customers who have bought this product) expect Logitech to actually fix the design problem, so when we ask for a replacement, we get a non-defectively designed product, or can we expect to be shipped identical, defective products as replacements. This many unhappy posts about ONE SPECIFIC ISSUE should get attention at some pretty high levels - will the product get improved, or will those of us who are beta-testing it for you (as seems to be the case) just pay the price for our brand loyalty. I hear Skullcandy makes a pretty reliable product...

Copydoc, as you may have read above, the replacement units that Logitech sent to me are each defective in the same way that the first one was.  It would seem that the answer to your question about the company actually fixing this defect is a resounding "NO".  They knowingly continue to sell defective units and send defective units to customers who actually contact them.  No more Logitech products will come into our home.

As far as "beta-testing", I think that 3+ years is a little beyond the norm

Adusting the volume above 75% on the Aux input devices fixed my problem. Now that I know what to do it is no longer an issue. I don't mind keeping the volume at max level and only adjusting the dock. Thx!

I had the very same problem, but I managed to fix it. And now my speakers don't shutt off anymore if my volume drops below 50% or so. Not done via ressetting or stuff like that, it's kinda fooling the speakers. I don't know if it will work for you, but you can try. Maybe.

Here's what I do ( and must do everytime I disconnect the speakers from my pc ):

* First I plug my Ipod into my speakers without anything conencted to it, no auxillary cables and no power.
* I turn the Ipod's inner volume to the max (speaker volume doesnt really matter, but make it so you can hear it), and let the sound pour out of my speakers, just some randome song on your Ipod will do.
* Have your pc play a Video or a music track also on 100% inner volume settings.
* Than I connect the cables from my pc to my speakers, in a particulear order, 1e the Auxilliary sound cable, the speakers will choose the Ipod's sound over the auxillary so long as you has your Ipod in your speakers, and than I connect my power cable.
* Than I unplug my Ipod whilest the pc already has a song of it's own playing on 100& volume (this is critical), the speakers cannot get a moment of silence.

When all that's done the speakers should be able to keep playing anything from the pc without shutting off. 
At least that's how it has worked with me.

This is insulting to the customer. Years of Logitech speaker purchases just ended. The speakers will be returned, and my opinion of logitech's awful ethics will be shared with those around me. 

Some companies rise, some fall. Customer satisfaction guides this, not corporate desire for bigger profits.

Goodbye logitech. What company do you guys recommend instead?

It's obvious now that this Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 has a major design flaw that is terminal. My only hope is that Logitech has taken note of the dozens of posts about the auto switch off. Don't hold your breath! For what it's worth, and to add to the din, here's my experience... I dock my iPod Classic 120GB in the Logitech speaker system and it plays for a while, but when the music becomes too soft, the speakers turn off. Sometimes it comes back on when the music is loud again. So I tried plugging in the iPod via the headphone socket, but the same thing happens.The iPod still shows as playing but the speakers keep turning off in reasonably quiet passages, despite setting the iPod to FULL volume and ensuring it is not volume restricted. At full volume this iPod is absolutely deafening if I try to listen with earphones! Resetting the speakers with a pencil makes no difference. Mains or battery power makes no difference. However, if I plug in a little portable radio, it works fine, even on classical music, as long as the volume is set high enough. If set too low, the speakers still turn off. The Logitech speakers have an auto detect which turns them off if it thinks there is no signal. However this seems to be completely out of adjustment. It turns off even on moderately loud music. It is useless for playing my iPod! LOGITECH If you can be bothered to monitor your own forums, how about putting a big warning on the box that these speakers are definitely NOT suitable for classical music and can only play constant very loud pop music.

Should I buy the S715i instead of the pure-fi anywhere because of the problems. The Pure-fi unit has a better remote and case and is slightly less money. Is there any chance that Logitech has fixed the problems
