I am having the same exact problem that others have described here. I've got a Pure-fi Anywhere 2 that I've had for 12 to 18 months. It worked fine with my i-pod 4th gen. Upgraded to a 5th gen. and it will not play any audio through the lightning connector with these speakers. It DOES, however, charge the i-pod.
I admit I DO NOT have an apple brand adaptor, it is 3rd party, but not a cheap one. The adaptor I'm using is also the cable variety as I consider the non-cable adaptor inappropriate for use with this speaker system as it makes it so much taller and the mount would be much too flimsy. It would make the i-pod and/or the adaptor very suseptable to damage and would make the controls on the i-pod difficult to operate while mounted. Another plus for the cable adaptor is that it allows the i-pod/i-phone to lie on it's side, much better for watching videos or movies.
I love the Pure-fi Anywhere system. Just wish I had not been misled into believing that it would work with the lightning adaptor.
A work-around I'm considering is plugging in a blue-tooth adaptor into the speakers input, but that would be another $25 or so. Currently I'm using a 2nd cable in the headphone jack for the audio connection. Neither of these solutions allow the remote to be used for anything but on/off and volume though. Sad...

Hello,
It's been confirmed that the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 speaker works with the adapters from Apple only.

Hello woutizle,
Let me ask you a couple of questions:
Is the dock working with any of the iPhones?
Which original piece are you using from Apple?
I'll look forward to your reply.

Vanessa
