Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Tested and works fine with Vista.

The only difference is that the files must be put in this directory:

C:\ProgramData\Anoto\PADs

Thanks again!

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install a new custom .pad file in io2 software. I have the .png file and .pad file generated and I put them into respective folders ...\Logitech io2 Software 4.1\CommonAnotoDataFolder\Pads (pad file) and ...\Logitech io2 Software 4.1\program files\Logitech\Pen\Module Retargetable Folder (png file).

After then, I register the pad file using "registrationManager.RegisterPaper" from the Anoto SDK. The io2 Software recognizes my new pad, but the strokes and the png background don't appear.

I have changed the background.xml file to indicate my new png file, too.

The message "A feature associated with your digital paper is not supported by io2 Software. Data will be saved into an io document, but some features may not be available."

I'm almost there to do my new form to work.... Please, somebody help me.

Thanks a lot!

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

BRY,

I have the same problem with Easybook M3 (TC: 4200.506.19366 and 2779.506.19366). Could you please send me the PAD file too?

ohyeahq at yahoo . co . jp

BTW, I have a bunch of PADs in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Anoto\PADs (EASYBOOK_M3_33.1.12.1-128.pad, Hamelin Oxford Easybook A5 33.0.12.0-95.pad, etc), none of which seem to work with the current notebook I'm trying to use. They are XML files but TC numbers are not found in them. How can I tell which PAD is good for a particular TC form?

Thanks a lot.
Oh-Yeah?

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

BRY,

I've received the files. Thank you so much for your help and kindness.

Unfortunately, they don't work for me; I got an error "there are features unsupported in io2 software" and a page with a blank background. But, at least, my pen strokes are there, so it's better now. I still get the "paper definition missing" error (and no download data) for Easybook M3 'Taskmanager' notebooks (A4 and A5, top bound).

On the other hand, I'm very disappointed with the practically dead support from Anoto, Logitech, and Oxford Digital; they claim that all Anoto-paper notebooks are compatible with io2, while customers keep getting "paper difinition missing" errors. They should have an automatic PAD search-and-download mechanism in the driver (which is a common sense in 2007). Or, at least, they should have newest PADs available on their web sites (which was a common sense back in 90's).

If io2 is fading out from the market (as rumor says), a good part of the reason is the lack of support from them. Too bad fo the cutting-edge technology. :-)
