Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Hi I have changed computers and the new machine is vista (XP was not available)
The IO2 software intalled without problem, but the error message I get is that the paper is not recognized and the system seems unable to find new definitions (I am using the same logitech collins A4 and A5 notebooks I used on my xp machine). Logitech tech support has been monumentally useless telling me to go back to XP or to throw out the pen.

I have read the whole thread but am not sure what I need to do - Bry can you or anyone else please point me in the right direction?

Many thanks....

Hi there,

Well, I could package up all the PAD files that I have, but they were installed from the Logitech software, so should be just the same as what you already have.

Although, the PAD files go into a different folder under Vista, so you might want to double-check in:

C:\ProgramData\Anoto\PADs

Good luck!

Hi Bry

I have been using my Logitech IO2 pen with Logitech (Collins) notebooks, which works fine. I've just bought a load of Oxford Easybook M3 notebooks & find that the Logitech software (version 4.1) complains that it can't download the paper definition for the Easybook.

I'd be very grateful if you could send the current Easybook pad files to me. My email address is

The TC number is TC:4198.506.22843. The barcode number is "3 020120 019628".

Thanks in anticipation of your help.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Hi Bry

Thank you very much for sending me the pad files. The Logitech software now recognises the Oxford Easybook M3. However, I notice there are a number of features that don't work for the Easybook with the Logitech software. These are:
(1) Blank background,
(2) No automatic page numbering,
(3) No page index files,
(4) The "New Notepad" pidget doesn't work properly.

I think I can fix these by merging in this functionality from the earlier pad files. I'll post here when I've done this, if it works.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Yeah - the blank background is a bit of a bummer, but I've learned to live with it. I haven't been able to find the correct background image to use.

Not sure about 2 and 3 , but as far as I'm aware, the New Notepad pidget seems to work for me.
I'm on my second Easybook, and all is fine...

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Hi Bry

I have modified the PAD file for the A4 lined 6mm Oxford Easybook M3 to make the following changes.

1) I have added a background image file, which I made by rescaling one of the original files.
2) I have added page numbering, so that if you select one of the new file name options that includes page numbering, then the page number appears in the filename automatically when you download from the pen.
3) I have fixed the New Notepad pidget. This prevents the Logitech software from creating an empty document file when you start a new notepad.

The page index files are generated automatically by the Logitech software, so there is no need to distribute these with the PAD files.

I have put the modified PAD file, background image, and a ReadMe file with installation instructions in a public directory on FreeDrive. You (and anyone else) should be able to access it using this URL: http://www.freedrive.com/folder/d207678f6407819552de1a052f26a501. Click on the file name links, and then on the Download link.

Please note that I have only been able to test the pad file using my own system configuration:
[] A4 Lined 6mm Oxford Easybook M3, TC:4198.506.22843, Page Addresses 33.2.18.1-128.
[] Logitech IO2 consumer pen.
[] Logitech IO2 software version 4.1.
[] Windows XP Pro

It works for me, but I can't provide technical support to anyone else. Good luck.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Hi Nigel - good work!
This works a treat for me, and I didn't even need to reboot or re-logon as your text file suggests.

Do you mind if I incorporate these files into my email template that I send to people requesting through this forum?

The more complete a set is available, the more people I (we?) can help effectively.

Well done again on the great work.

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

Hi Bry

I'm very pleased that the new PAD file works for you. Thanks for trying it. Of course I'd be delighted if you send the files to anyone else who wants them. Maybe we (you?) should start a new thread to announce this, as lots of people seem to need these files.

I've only modified the A4 lined PAD file, as that is the only Easybook M3 I have to test it with. My understanding is that the quadrille Easybooks are no longer manufactured. But if someone were to give me a blank A5 lined 6mm Easybook M3 (page addresses 33.2.20.1-128), then I might be induced to do the same mods for that Pad file.

Thanks again for sending me the original EBM3 Pad files.

Kind regards,

Nigel

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

I have noticed a problem with the A4 Easybook M3 background image I made. It seems to be reasonably accurate for the left-hand pages of the book. But on the right-hand pages there is a horizontal offset. This means that the Logitech software requires separate images for the left and right-hand pages of the EBM3. I guess I must have only tested the background image with a left-hand page... Oops :smileysad:

If I have time I will make a new background image for the right-hand pages, and update the PAD file accordingly.

Re: About installing new PAD files in the io2 software

OK, I've created a new page image for the right-hand pages, and fixed-up the PAD file to use it. You can find a new set of files in the following public folder on FreeDrive
http://www.freedrive.com/folder/d207678f6407819552de1a052f26a501.
Click on the file name links, and then on the Download link. Follow the installation instructions in the readme.txt file.
