IO2 Pen works with Vista!

Now where's that thread that talked me through the process?  Especial thanks to CraigA and slink3030.

Install .NET framework 1.1 (my laptop already had it) and .NET framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (go to MS site to get this)

Insert Logitech CD and browse files

Run "setup" as an administrator

it all installs

Then after installation, browse to the installation directory (c:\Program Files\Logitech\io2Software by default) and find file called Pen.Ink.Download (in Vista the file extension won't be visible by default).  Right click and select Properties.  Click on Compatability.  Under Privilege level (towards the bottom) click "Run this Program as an administrator"

Then each time you boot up Windows it will ask you to give the utility permission to run and of course since you know what it is you can allow it to run!  Since it asks you don't have to remember - actually i really like Vista after seeing this and i can see why Microsoft is stopping the sale of new copies of Windows XP as Vista will give far fewer support calls.

Hope you have as much success with your pen as i have - it even managed to update the pages i moved across from my old XP desktop with new information (at least I can't see any new pages created)

Re: IO2 Pen works with Vista!

When installing the software for the IO2 Pen on Vista it hangs just before it completes. Have tried many of times but still the same issue, So I am unable to install the software.

The only way I got the Pen to work with Vista was to install the software using XP Pro and then use the upgrade option for Vista. Works perfectly, but as I am now using 64bit Vista, I am unable to upgrade from XP to Vista.

You have to give the software and the downloader admin rights you will find them both in the logitech folder just give them the admin rights everything will work fine.....
