Hello, I got this pen as a gift however I'm forced to use the worthless operative system of Windows to use this pen. I have everything I want working on Linux (games (also windows games), office suit, IM etc)). Isn't it the time for Logitech to realize that not every person who buys their products use windows? I'm not possibly asking for the software (which by the way can't be ported to Linux through wine due to development with dotnet) but perhaps development of drivers or at the very least give out the code for the pen drivers and let the opensource community develop drivers (which I can't understand that some companies refuses to).

Wake up Logitech the opensource movement is already here!

As has been mentioned in other posts, the iO Pen is currently Windows-only. We understand the wishes of non-Windows users to use iO on other platforms, but this time there are no plans to support any other operating systems. If there are other non-Windows users who would like to see iO on other platforms, please respond in this thread. Hope this clarifies things for you.

Well if you don't intend to develop any drivers/software for linux could you atleast give the code for the drivers to the open source community and let us develop the drivers and create software ourselves?
I simply can't understand why this should be so hard!

I'm interested in a UNIX (e.g. Linux) implementation. And also a MacOSX implementation.

I believe we discussed this in a previous thread regarding your innovation proposal. iO Pen requires the .NET framework, thus at this time, there are no plans to port it for non-Microsoft platforms. We have forwarded your thoughts to the appropriate group, however. I hope this answers your question, and thank you for your interest.

I know, but you asked for a reply to this thread of interested people.
My innovation proposal wasn't primarily about the OS support, it was
about a collaboration between e.g. Waterman (for best pen usage experience)
and Logitech (for best technical support).

.NET support is available on linux via Mono, so that's not really the reason. The reason must be that you think all your customers run windows.

I need linux support for the io pen too. I use only Linux, and am in possession of one such pen, and am therefore unable to use it. If you release the code, then whether or not you believe that its possible to develop Linux support you will at least have shown some recognition of the multi OS world that we live in. Its a great pen, shame I can't use it.

I wish to have Linux support on ANYTHING Logitech. I think if you started on a Debian version, it would cover a large portion and there will be a better chance of propagation to the other versions of of non-microsoft operating systems. (I would prefer an Ubuntu version)
