Has anyone had luck installing the pen in Vista Beta 2? I get about 95% and it tells me there is an error. I have ran in compatibility mode and the same thing. I have also ran in administrative mode and the same there too. Vista recognizes the pen but there are no drivers or software built in.
Let me know if anyone else is having any luck.
I'll just keep trying and using the pen on another computer.
Thanks.

It seems that the IO2 software is incompatable with the user access control on Vista.
I've not successfully figured out a way to make it work normally. This is what I've found on RC1:
You can either
(1) Disable user access control (not recommended)
or, this is what I ended up doing:
(2)
* Enable Administrator account and log in as Administrator.
* On the Admin account, change the software settings to point to the "IO Documents" of your normal account.
* Turn off "convert document during download"
Now, log in as Administrator to download off the pen, log out, then log in under your normal user account to process the .pen documents.
I also found (thankfully) that I hadn't lost all my documents like I thought I had, they were still in the pen, but the PC software thought they had already been downloaded.

Ok, so more tips.
1) Leave pen out of cradle.
2)
Download the latest (4.1) package off Logitech website and run through the install.
3)
Fix so that the launcher runs as a full admin...
3.1) In Control Panel, select "Programs", "Change Startup Programs" and disable/remove "io2 pen"
3.2) Find "Pen.TrayIcon.exe" under "program files\logitech\io2software", right-click and click "Pin to start menu" or "Add to quick lanch" (whatever is preference). Right-click again and click "Properties". Click "Compatability" tab, and click "Show settings for all users". Enable "Run as administrator".
This adds a manual step to start the pen software, and you will get prompted if you want to run as administrator.
4)
Drivers
Put pen in cradle, and when prompted for driver software, browse to the location where the software was unpacked into during stage 2. If not certain, specify "c:\program files" and enable "search sub-directories".

I know this is a long time after the last post but it is possible to get the pen to work with Vista - see thread "Vista? Alternatives" or search on poster swirsky (or you can search on my name)

I just bought the io2 digital pen setup and discovered that it does not work with Vista. Any idea when this is going to be resolved? Any ideas how I can get it to work before that time?

I just successfully downloaded 5 pages. What I did was right click on pen.trayicon.exe and told it to run as administrator. Everything worked perfectly.
Yippee.
A co-worker got LiveScribe's pen, and the paper I have is incompatable and I really did not want to spend another $200 for the same thing. Now I don't have to do that.
