I have tried repeatedly to fix the problem by myself with no luck. I have rebooted several times. I have docked and undocked and docked the pen again. I have reset the pen (not a full reset that clears memory). I have re-installed the software using "repair" option.
Here is a description of the error that repeats everytime I dock the pen:
- Dock the pen
- Logitech io2 Download Manager appears
- Downloading data from the pen message appears
- Error: Unable to download handwritten documents from the pen.
- Error Details - internal error code : 0x80010105
- Warning: An error occured during download. The handwritten data is safely stored in the pen. Please undock your pen and dock it into the cradle again. If the download fails again, please reboot the computer.
Here is my Pen configuration:
Battery: 100% Full
Memory: 88% free, 018 KB used
Firmware Version: 38.16 - Consumer
Pen Software Version:4.1.852.1
Pen HAL Version: 4.1.852.1
Pen Driver Version: 3.1.593.1
Here is my Operating System information:
Microsoft Internet Explorer version: 7.0.5730.11
Microsoft .NET Framework version: 1.1.4322.2032
Operating System version: Microsoft Windows NT 5.1.2600.0
I appreciate your help to resolve this issue

Hi karmatetra,
same problem to me.
In my case it was caused by insufficient rights.
Review the group your current user is in. It has to be at least "power users".

Same problem here. Installed on Windows Vista Ultimate (32bit). Did the bodge to install .NET 1.1 framework and worked fine for a couple of weeks.
Now whenever I plug it into the USB cradle I get this error. I'm running as Administrator. I have done a repair on the io2 software. Have cleared the pen's memory. Have now run out of ideas - this pen cost me over £150 and i can't use it. What does this error code indicate Logitech? Can someone at least point us in the right direction?????

The only way that I resolved the issue was to perform the full memory reset. Of course, I lost all information saved in the pen.
It seems to me that there should be resolution to the problem without having to perform the full memory reset. However, when one has done everything else, and there is no reply from Logitech technical support, what else can one do?
This thread is proof that this is not an isolated problem. At least we should have gotten some kind of reply from Logitech. I am very dissappointed with Logitech technical support.

Had similar problem under VISTA which appeared to be driven by the use of IO tags which wanted to open tasks or E-mails. Overcame the problem by:
1. marking all the .exe files in the Logitech IO software folder as "Run as administrator"
2. reboot computer
3. note the small icon in the systray which attempts to block the pen.icon - right click on this icon and run the blocked program. (this seems to be a Windows Defender block)
Downloads then proceeded as normal.
